Race Overview

It’s the 3rd Annual NEPA Run the River Race — a water-themed 5K Fun Run & Mile Walk!

Event Details

• Date: 2026-08-01
• Location: 160 Market St, Wilkes-Barre, PA
• Festival: NEPA Summer in the City is back to host their “Day Downtown Festival.”
• Start: Morning run/walk around Kirby Park to kick off the festivities!

Course Features

• Volunteers: Volunteers will line the course armed with water to cool you off!
• Shirt Color: Choose your shirt color wisely — blue for water enthusiasts, white for those who want to stay dry!
• Awards: Medals for the fastest in every age-group and for the top three overall male and female finishers.
• Youth Options: 1.25 mile Fun Run option is available to kids 12 and under, or anyone can walk the same distance.

Team Competition

• Teams: Create or join a team during registration!
• Eligibility: Open to sponsors, businesses, running clubs, and XC teams.
• Trophy: A team trophy will be awarded based on the fastest average time of the top five finishers.
• Bragging Rights: Compete for trophy and bragging rights!

Registration & Pricing

• Early Bird: $25.00 — before July 6th
• Standard: $30.00 — July 6th to July 31st
• Day of Registration: $35.00 — on August 1st (morning of)
• Cause: All proceeds will go towards supporting CASA of Wyoming Valley.
