🏃‍♂️ The Shimmy in Shickshinny 1/2 and 1/4 Marathon is BACK for 2026!

🌳 Course Overview

• Type: This flat, fast, and shaded course is PERFECT for a mid-summer half-marathon!
• Location: The Shimmy in Shickshinny follows the hard-packed Susquehanna Warrior Trail along the west bank of the Susquehanna River.
• Elevation: The out-and-back route has a total elevation gain/loss of 11 feet.
• Shading: 90% of the trail is shaded.

🕗 Event Timing

• Date: Saturday August 8th.
• Half Marathon Start: 8:00 am.
• Quarter Marathon Start: 8:15 am.
• Note: This is our largest Shimmy yet, so we have separated the start of each event.

💵 Cost

• Half Marathon: $50 until 1/1, $55 until 3/31, $60 until 6/30: $65 from 7/1 to race day.
• Quarter Marathon: $30 until 1/1, $35 until 3/31: $40 until 6/30: $45 from 7/1 to race day.

👕 Race T-shirt and Unique Finisher's Medal

• Participants: Receive a super-soft race-themed T-shirt (while supplies last).
• All Participants: Will receive a unique finisher's medal!

🚻 Bathrooms and Water Stations

• Facilities: Porta-potties will be available at the starting area and along the course.
• Water Stations: Available roughly every 2 miles.

🚗 Parking

• Availability: Plenty of parking near the starting area in a few parking lots and along the street.

🎟️ Packet Pickup

• Day-of Pickup: All packets will be picked up on-site.
• Opening Time: Packet pickup opens at 6:30 AM.

💖 Charity

• Support: A portion of the proceeds and 100% of all donations will support the Susquehanna Warrior Trail.

🏆 Awards

• Overall Awards: Top three M/F overall and top three M/F masters (masters division for Half Marathon only).
• Age Group Awards: Top three M/F in specified age groups will win plaques to attach to their finisher's medals.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

• Cutoff Time: Yes! We ask runners to finish in 3:00. There is a hard cutoff of 3:15.
• Course Surface: Flat hard-packed dirt and gravel: 90% shaded.
• Dogs: Allowed on the course but discouraged from running with them due to safety reasons.
• Strollers: Not allowed on the course: the trail is not well-suited for strollers.
