What is a Tunnel To Towers Run & Walk?

The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001, after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty! Event Information

• Location: 1250 Eastover Drive, Jackson, MS
• Date: 2026-09-12
• Community Focus: This will be the 5th year in Jackson MS, and we are excited to once again bring together the community to honor first responders, remember 9/11, and raise funds for the Tunnel to Towers programs.
• Special Commemoration: For the 5th anniversary of the event, all participants will be receiving a commemorative finisher coin.

How far is a Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk?

• Distance: This is a 5K (3.1 miles) walk or run event.
• Participation: Anyone can run, walk, or experience this event.

Packet Pickup

• Race Day Pickup: Packet pickup will be available starting at 7am.
• Early Pickup: Early packet pickup on Friday, September 11th at The District at Eastover from 4:30 to 6:30pm.

Registration Details

• Day of Registration: Yes, registration opens at 7 am on race day with a $5 late registration fee.
• Online Registration: Online registration remains open until the start of the event.
• T-shirt Guarantee: Register before August 24th to be guaranteed a shirt.
• Display Your Bib: Please display your bib on the front of your outermost garment.

Awards and Amenities

• Awards: We keep awards simple, honoring first responders, firefighters, police, or military running in gear.
• Water Stations: A water station will be available along the route and at the start/finish line.
• Permitted Items: Strollers, wheelchairs, firefighter turnout gear, and military backpacks are permitted.
• Medical Staff: Yes, there will be an Emergency Medical Service team on site.

Fundraising and Donations

• Fundraising: Participants can fundraise and encourage donations after registration.
• Offline Donations: Mail checks made payable to Tunnel to Towers Foundation to specified address.
• Donation Acceptance: Donations will be accepted for 6 weeks after the event.

Volunteering and Miscellaneous

• Volunteer Opportunities: Email [email protected] to volunteer on the day of the event.
• Registration Receipts: Online registrants will automatically receive a receipt.

• Refund Policy: No refunds are provided: transfers to another participant are allowed.
