Event Overview

Can you survive the Death by 5k Challenge?

Ten 5ks in 24 hours.

Race Schedule

• First 5k Start: 8 am
• Subsequent Start Times: Every 2.5 hours
• 5k Start Times: 8 am, 10:30 am, 1 pm, 3:30 pm, 6 pm, 8:30 pm, 11 pm, 1:30 am, 4 am, 6:30 am
• Completion Deadline: Final 5k must be completed by 8 am on Sunday

Event Location

The event will take place at the RunStrong Training Center and the 5k course will be the same for each leg, starting and ending at the Training Center.

• Resting Options: Runners may rest or sleep inside their vehicles in between 5ks, or can go home if they live close enough
• Tent Space: There is a green space where tents can be placed

Meals and Snacks

• Total Meals: 5 meals including hot food served over the course of the event
• Meal Times: 8:30 am, 1:30 pm, 6:30 pm, 11:30 pm, and 4:20 am
• Snack Availability: Plenty of snack food throughout the event

Participant Details

• Race Registration: Registrants will receive a race shirt along with some race swag
• Finisher Award: Finishers will receive a custom finisher's coffin
• Weather Considerations: Takes place in summer in Mississippi: be prepared for hot weather
• Hydration: No on-course aid station: runners will want to carry a handheld or other hydration equipment

Activities Between Races

In between 5ks, we will cook food, play games, rest and relax to get ready.

Registration Information

• Participant Limit: Initially, 75 spots are open for registration
• Waitlist: After 75 fill up, additional registrants will be placed on a waitlist, though this is not guaranteed
