Event Overview

Can you survive the Death by 5k Challenge?

• Challenge: Ten 5ks in 24 hours.
• Date: 2026-08-22

Race Schedule

• Start Times: The first 5k starts at 8 am and subsequent 5ks start every 2.5 hours.
• 5k Times: 8 am, 10:30 am, 1 pm, 3:30 pm, 6 pm, 8:30 pm, 11 pm, 1:30 am, 4 am, 6:30 am.
• Final 5k: Must be completed by 8 am on Sunday.
• Course: The 5k course will be the same for each leg, starting and ending at the Training Center.

Event Logistics

• Resting: Runners may rest or sleep inside their vehicles in between 5ks or can go home if they live close enough to the event location.
• Green Space: There is also a green space where tents can be placed.
• Meals: There will be 5 meals, each including hot food, served over the course of the event.
• Meal Times: 8:30 am, 1:30 pm, 6:30 pm, 11:30 pm, and 4:20 am.

Participant Perks

• Race Shirt: Registrants will receive a race shirt along with some race swag.
• Finisher's Coffin: Finishers will receive a custom finisher's coffin.
• Weather Consideration: This event takes place in summer in Mississippi, so weather can be a major factor.
• Hydration: There will be no on-course aid station, so runners will want to carry a handheld or other hydration equipment.

Activities and Community

• In-Between Events: In between 5ks, we will cook food, play games, rest and relax to get ready.
• Participant Limits: Initially, we will have 75 spots open for registration.
• Waitlist: After those 75 fill up, anyone wishing to register will be placed on the waitlist.
