Race Information

Course Description

• Original Course: Starts at Mainland and ends at McAllister.
• Distance: 26.2 miles with a more downhill route.
• Scenic Route: Covers parks along the Leon and Salado creeks in the Texas Hill Country.
• Team Composition: Minimum of 2 and up to 5 runners per team: multiple categories available.

Starting and Ending Points

• Start: The race begins at the Rim Trailhead off Vance Jackson Road.
• Finish: Ends at the McAllister Dog Park trailhead for celebrations and medals.
• Runner Race Guide: Complete map and instructions can be found under the Runner Race Guide menu tab.
• Relay Logistics: Ensure your runners get to their relay points on time for a team celebration.

Registration Details

• Past Performance: This race has sold out the last 3 years: register early!
• Shirts: Guaranteed for the first 500 registrants before January 15th.
• Fee: Per person registration: all members register separately.
• Age Requirement: Must be at least 14 years old to participate.

Awards

• Categories: Awards for top 3 teams in Junior, Open, Masters, Super Masters, and Non-Binary categories.
• Mixed Category: Must have at least 2 females per team.
• Best Team Shirts: An award for the team with the best shirts will also be given.
• Note: Non-Binary category has only First Place awards.

Race Rules

• Verification: Team members must be verified for award eligibility.
• Baton: Must carry the team baton while running.
• Disqualification: Teams may be disqualified for rule violations.
• Strollers & Pets: Teams with strollers or pets are not eligible for awards.

Packet Pickup

• Mandatory Pickup: Packets must be picked up on specified dates: no race day pickup.
• Team Representative: Choose one person for the team to pick up packets.
• Batons: Distributed on race day at the start line.
• Pickup Locations: REI and Fleet Feet San Antonio on specified dates.

• Time Limits: 7-hour limit on marathon relay course, from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Discount Information

• SARR Members: 25% discount with online registration through 1/11/26.
• Young and Seniors: 50% discount for runners age 20 or younger and age 70+.
• Military Discount: $5 discount for active/retired members: ID required.
• Expiration: Discount offer expires 45 days before Race Day.
