SARR Great Greenway Marathon Relay

🏃‍♂️Race Overview

Get ready for 2026! We are going back to the original course, starting at Mainland and ending at McAllister. Still 26.2 miles but more downhill. Records will be broken!

🌳Course Details

• Location: This beautiful, scenic, shaded course explores the many parks along the Leon and Salado creeks at the edge of the Texas Hill Country in San Antonio.
• Team Size: You can have a minimum of 2 and up to 5 runners per team.
• Relay Legs: There are 5 Relay Legs ranging from 4.5 to 6.5 miles, requiring strategic placement of runners.
• Start/End Points: The race starts at the Mainland Trailhead and ends at the McAllister Dog park trailhead with a celebration.

🎉Participant Information

• Eligibility: Runners of all abilities are welcome (Must be at least 14 years old to participate).
• Selling Out: This race SOLD OUT the last 3 years, so register early to secure your spot.
• Shirts: Shirts are guaranteed only to the first 500 registrants prior to January 25th.
• Registration: Registration fee is per person: all team members must register separately.

🏆Awards

Awards will be given for top 3 teams in the following categories:

• Categories: Junior Ages 14-20, Open, Masters Age 40+, Super Masters Age 50+, Non-Binary (First Place only).
• Mixed Teams: All Mixed categories must have at least 2 females per team.
• Best Team Shirt: Award for the team with the best team shirts.

• Open Female: The Swift She-Wolves (2025), 2:50:13
• Masters Mixed: Wolfpack Mixed Geezers (2025), 3:06:25

📏Race Rules

• Verification: All members eligible for awards are subject to verification by race officials.
• Baton: All runners must carry the team baton while running their leg(s).
• Disqualifications: Teams with runners using baby strollers or pets will not be eligible for awards.
• Completion: Each leg must be completely finished, or the team will be disqualified.

🎟️Packet Pickup

All packets MUST be picked up at one of the dates below. THERE WILL BE NO RACE DAY PACKET PICKUP.

Choose one person to pick up for your relay team. BATONS WILL BE GIVEN OUT ON RACE DAY AT THE START LINE.

📅Race Timing

• Start Time: 7:00 AM
• Cutoff Time: 2:00 PM
• Water Stops: Located at each Relay spot and along the course.
• Time Limit: There will be a 7-hour time limit on the marathon relay course.

💰Registration Discounts

Register early: SARR members receive a 25% discount with online registration through 1/11/26. Runners age 20 or younger and age 70+ get a 50% discount. Military personnel receive a $5 discount with ID.
