🏃‍♂️ SARR Great Greenway Marathon Relay

Get ready for 2026! We are going back to the original course, starting at Mainland and ending at McAllister. Still 26.2 miles but more downhill. Records will be broken!

🌳 Course Overview

• Course Type: Point-to-point course.
• Distance: 26.2 miles, with 5 Relay Legs ranging from 4.5 to 6.5 miles.
• Starting Point: Mainland Trailhead off Bandera Road.
• Ending Point: McAllister Dog park trailhead with a celebration and medals.

👥 Team Details

• Team Size: Minimum of 2 and up to 5 runners per team.
• Runner Age: Participants must be at least 14 years old.
• Registration: Each member must register separately and create or join a team.
• Registration Deadline: Register early to secure your spot: shirts are only guaranteed for the first 500 registrants prior to January 25th.

🏆 Awards

Awards will be given for top 3 teams in the following categories:

• Junior: Ages 14-20 (All Male, All Female, Mixed).
• Open: (All Male, All Female, Mixed).
• Masters: Age 40+ (All Male, All Female, Mixed).
• Super Masters: Age 50+ (All Male, All Female, Mixed): Non-Binary (Only First Place team awarded).

Note: All Mixed categories must have at least 2 females per team.

Additionally, there is an Award for the team with the best team shirts.

📜 Course Records

• Open Mixed: Wolfpack Eagle (2024), 2:50:40.
• Open Male: Alpha Pack (2025), 2:25:27.
• Open Female: The Swift She-Wolves (2025), 2:50:13.
• Masters (Male): South Texas Rollers EOFF (2024), 2:38:09.

📋 Race Rules

• Verification: All members of each team eligible for awards are subject to verification by race officials.
• Batons: All runners must carry the team baton while running.
• Disqualifications: Teams with a stroller or pet will not be eligible for awards.
• Completion: Each leg must be completely finished, or the team will be disqualified.

📦 Packet Pickup

All packets MUST be picked up at one of the designated dates. THERE WILL BE NO RACE DAY PACKET PICKUP. Please choose one person to pick up for your relay team. Batons will be given out on race day at the start line.

🕒 Important Dates

• Race Start Time: 7:00 AM.
• Race Cutoff Time: 2:00 PM.
• Time Limit: There will be a 7-hour time limit on the marathon and marathon relay course.
• Water Stops: Water coolers will be located at relay spots plus Hardberger Park, Eisenhower Park, and Buddy Calk Park.

💲 Discounts

Register early: SARR members receive a 25% discount with online registration thru 1/11/26. Runners age 20 or younger and age 70+ get a 50% discount. Military (active/retired) get a $5 discount: please show ID at packet pickup. Expires 45 days before race day.
