SARR Great Greenway Marathon Relay

Race Overview

• Location: Mainland Trail Head, San Antonio, TX

Course Details

• Greenway System: Explore the beautiful, scenic, shaded course along the Leon and Salado creeks.
• Team Composition: Minimum of 2 and up to 5 runners per team.
• Relay Legs: 5 legs ranging from 4.5 to 6.5 miles each.
• Relay Handoffs: Locations include Fox Park, The Rim, 1604 Trailhead, Walker Ranch, and McAllister Dog park.

Participation Guidelines

• Runners Age: Must be at least 14 years old to participate.
• Team Registration: All team members must register separately and form or join a team.
• Sell Out Notice: This race has sold out the last 3 years, so register early.
• Shirt Guarantee: Shirts only guaranteed for the first 500 registrants before January 25th.

Awards

• Awards Categories: Top 3 teams in various categories, including Juniors, Open, Masters, and Non-Binary.
• Mixed Categories: Must have at least 2 females per team.
• Best Team Shirts: Award for team with the best design.
• Eligibility: All members must be verified to receive awards.

Race Rules

• Verification: All eligible team members must be verified by race officials.
• Baton Requirement: Each runner must carry the team baton while running.
• Disqualification: Teams with strollers or pets will not be eligible for awards.
• Completion Requirement: Each leg must be completely finished for the team to be eligible.

Packet Pickup

• Pickup Requirement: All packets must be picked up on specified dates: no race day pickup.
• Selected Person: Choose one person from your team to pick up packets.
• Pre-Race Dates: January 30th from 4-7 p.m. and January 31st from 12-3 p.m.
• Batons: Will be distributed on race day at the start line.

Discounts

• SARR Members: Receive a 25% discount until January 11, 2026.
• Younger & Older Runners: Age 20 or younger and age 70+ get a 50% discount.
• Military Discounts: $5 discount for active/retired military personnel.
• ID Requirement: Must show ID at packet pickup for military discount.
