SARR Great Greenway Marathon Relay

🏃‍♂️Race Overview

Get ready for 2026! We are going back to the original course, starting at Mainland and ending at McAllister. Still 26.2 miles but more downhill. Records will be broken!

🌳Course Details

• Length: 26.2 miles of scenic, shaded course.
• Teams: Minimum of 2 and up to 5 runners per team.
• Relay Legs: 5 legs ranging from 4.5 to 6.5 miles.
• Map: Complete map and instructions provided to each team.

📍Relay Handoffs

The race starts at the Mainland Trailhead off Bandera Road. The relay handoffs are as follows:

• Relay 1: Fox Park trailhead.
• Relay 2: The Rim Trailhead.
• Relay 3: 1604 Trailhead.
• Relay 4: Walker Ranch park.

The race ends at the McAllister Dog park trailhead where a celebration and medals will be waiting for your team.

👟Participation Info

• Eligibility: Runners of all abilities are welcome. Must be at least 14 years old to participate.
• SOLD OUT: This race has sold out the last 3 years, so register early to secure your spot.
• Shirts: Guaranteed to the first 500 registrants prior to January 25th.
• Registration: Fee is per person: all members must register separately.

🏆Awards

Awards will be given for top 3 teams in the following categories:

• Junior: Ages 14-20 (All Male, All Female, Mixed).
• Open: (All Male, All Female, Mixed).
• Masters: Age 40+ (All Male, All Female, Mixed).
• Non-Binary: Only First Place team awarded in this category.

Also, there is an Award for the team with the best team shirts.

• Open Male: Alpha Pack (2025), 2:25:27.
• Open Female: The Swift She-Wolves (2025), 2:50:13.
• Masters Male: South Texas Rollers EOFF (2024), 2:38:09.

⚖️Race Rules

• Verification: All members eligible for awards are subject to verification by race officials.
• Team Baton: All runners must carry the team baton while running their leg(s).
• Eligibility: Teams with a runner using a baby stroller or a pet are not eligible for awards.
• Disqualification: Teams will be disqualified if each leg is not completely finished.

📦Packet Pickup

• Mandatory: All packets MUST be picked up at designated dates: THERE WILL BE NO RACE DAY PACKET PICKUP.
• Team Pickup: Choose one person to pick up for your relay team.
• Batons: Will be given out on race day at the start line.
• Captain’s Guide: A Runner Race Guide will be sent to all runners with details on relay and parking information.

⏰Race Details

Time limit is 7 hours. Race start time: 7:00 AM. Race cutoff time: 2:00 PM.

Water Stops: Water coolers will be located at each relay spot plus Hardberger Park, Eisenhower Park, and Buddy Calk Park.

Register early: SARR members receive a 25% discount with online registration through 1/11/26. Runners age 20 or younger and age 70+ get a 50% discount. Military (active/retired) get a $5 discount.
