🏃‍♂️ Race Information

• Date: September 27, 2025
• Location: Independence Fire Station No. 1, Independence, KY
• Course: A gentle out and back course on Madison Pike through historical portion of Independence, KY. Elevation changes along the course are less than 45’.
• Start Time: Opening ceremonies begin at 8:10 AM, and the run/walk race starts at 8:30 AM.

📦 Packet Pick Up

• Location: Independence Fire District, Company 1, 1980 Delaware Crossing, Independence, KY
• Friday: September 26th, from 10 AM – 5 PM
• Race Day: Packet pick up at race site from 7:30 AM - 7:45 AM
• Note: There is no race day sign up: shirts and bibs can be picked up on race day for those not able to pick them up on Friday.

👥 Age Groups

• Categories: Male and Female AND runners/walkers
• Age Groups: Under 15, 16-20, 21-25, 26-30, 31-35, 36-39, 40-45, 45-49, 50-54, 55-60, 61-64, 65 and older

👕 T-shirts

• No Race Day Sign Up: Shirts and bibs can be picked up that morning for those unable to pick them up on Friday.

🎯 Mission

• Objective: To provide awareness and financial support to the men and women of the first responder community.
• Support: Funds raised will help provide financial support to the families of Firefighters, Police Officers, and Emergency Medical Staff providers who are killed in the line of duty.
• Collaboration: Independence Professional Firefighters Union Local 3945 in partnership with Hickory Grove Baptist Church.
• Beneficiary: This year, the race will assist Supporting Heroes.

🤝 Supporting Heroes

• Mission: Take care of the families of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice by answering their last call.
• Immediate Support: Presents a $5,000 ‘emergency funds’ check to the most immediate financially dependent survivor, typically within a few hours of the death.
• Ongoing Assistance: Provides additional emergency funds if needed and monthly support while assisting in obtaining state and federal line-of-duty death benefits.
• Community Events: Holds events throughout the year to build supportive relationships among the families of fallen first responders.

🚦 Race Day Details

• Start Time: All participants will start at 8:30 AM with no corrals: faster pace runners will start towards the front, walkers will line up in the back.
• Completion Time: All participants have 90 minutes to complete the course: after that time frame, everyone will be asked to move to the sidewalk to finish the race.
• Staggered Start: If participant numbers deem, a staggered start will be conducted based on experience and running/walking ability.
• Swag Bags: Included with race registration: there is no race day sign up.

🌐 Virtual Race

• Participation: Participants will receive a shirt/medal by mail following the live race day.
• Digital Bib: A digital race bib will be available to download and print for participants who want one.
