Big Sky State Games Road Race

Race Overview

This is a fairly flat, fast course on Thiel/River Rd and follows along scenic views of the Yellowstone River and its wildlife.

Race Details

• Date: July 18, 2026
• Location: East Lauralee Lane off Thiel Road (River Road), Laurel, MT
• Competitions: 5k, 10k, or 1/2 marathon
• Qualifying Event: This race is a qualifying sport for the State Games of America.

Start Times

• 1/2 Marathon: 6:30 a.m.
• 10k: 7:30 a.m.
• 5k: 7:40 a.m.
• Finish Time: All runners must be finished by 10 a.m.

Entry Fees

• Early Entry Fee: 5k and 10k: $35, 1/2 marathon: $40
• Late Entry Fee: 5k and 10k: $40, 1/2 marathon: $45
• Day of Packet Pickup: 5k/10k: $45, 1/2 Marathon: $50
• Championship Status: The 5k, 10k, and 1/2 Marathon are USATF State Championships for Montana.
