The Office of the Hudson County Executive invites you to: Save the Date for the 5th Annual Strides for Safety 5K Against Gun Violence!
Hudson County Executive Craig Guy served as a member of the Jersey City Police Department, seeing firsthand the awful impact of gun violence on our community. This initiative is near and dear to his heart, as Craig spent two decades working on a range of philanthropic events for the County before taking elected office.
":Putting an end to gun violence is a community effort, and we must work hand in hand to put an end to these senseless tragedies,": said County Executive Guy. ":Through partnerships and advocacy from parents, supporters, young people, religious leaders, and law enforcement, we can build and support a County in which all residents can thrive and succeed, free from the fear of gun violence.":
The Strides for Safety 5k is the rallying point in Hudson County to raise awareness about what is being done to end gun violence and provide an opportunity for everyone to get involved. More than a single event, the Strides for Safety race is a dynamic platform to support and celebrate community organizations working to build peace and bring out the best of our city.
Your ticket purchase/registration includes a T-shirt, a bib number, a light breakfast, refreshments, BBQ lunch and entertainment!
Hope to see you there, Saturday, September 19, 2026 - Lincoln Park, Jersey City!
The After-Party Award Celebration & BBQ is located near the finish line: it is right outside of the Gallo Center. The after-party BBQ will begin around 10:15AM.
