Born to Run 5k

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

• Location Change: Due to a last minute change in Valley Community Center's remodel start date, we have had to change our race location. The previous course is no longer safe for runners. The good news is that the new location is an improved course, no longer on dirt trails and grass.
• Race Location: St. Boniface Catholic Church, 1200 S. Warrior Lane, Waukee, IA 50263
• Race Date/Time: Saturday November 16 at 10 a.m.
• Race Types: The 5K and the 1 Mile Run will start at the same time.

• Fun Challenges: Lace up your running shoes and join us for our Born to Run 5k and 1 mile fun run! Get ready to conquer our scenic trail looped course, surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty.

• 5K Race: Ideal for both seasoned runners and beginners. Participate at any pace, from an easy walk to a fast run, pushing yourself to get your best time.
• 1 Mile Fun Run: Open to all ages and fitness levels, perfect for a leisurely stroll while soaking in the beauty of the trail.

🌍 Additional Participation Options

• Virtual Option: Use any timing and distance tracking method/app you choose. You are not required to submit your time, but if you want it posted online, you must submit it on Run Sign Up by Dec 1st.
• Giveaway Package: Available for virtual runners, but you need to cover the shipping costs. Select this as an add when registering.
• Charity Cause: Proceeds will benefit Mary's Helping Hands, providing support for expecting mothers and fathers with basic necessities.
• Community Contribution: Your participation will positively influence the lives of those in need, creating a brighter future.

• Timing: Professionally timed event including chip timing and live online results.

🎁 Packet Pickup & Registration

• Packet Pickup: At Fitness Sports (8810 Swanson Blvd, Clive, IA 50325) on Friday, November 15th, 4:00-6:00 PM or at Valley Community Center on race day from 8:00-9:00 AM.
• Day of Registration: Available from 8:00-9:30 AM at an increased cost. Advance registration is highly encouraged!
• Welcome Festivities: The event will end at 12:00 PM CT.
• Giveaways: In-person racers 13 and over receive a race t-shirt, race bib, and other items: children 12 and under receive Hy-Vee coupons and Ice Cream vouchers as well.

🏅 Inclusivity and Fun

• All Welcome: Everyone is invited! Whether you are an avid runner or just looking to get some fresh air.
• Strollers: Running/jogging strollers are encouraged for both the 5K and 1 Mile Run.
• Dog Policy: Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash at all times.
• Join Us: For a day of fitness, fun, and philanthropy, whether you’re a seasoned runner or looking for a memorable outdoor experience.
