Alameda Island Running Festival

Event Overview

For 2025 the Island running festival is back to a single day of racing with a distance for everyone!

The entire festival will take place at Faction this year with the Health and Wellness expo presented by Alameda Health Systems inside the old hanger.

As with all of our events, a portion of our registrations and sponsorships will be donated to our Beneficiary Alameda Education Foundation. You can read more about them from our direct links below:

Race Weekend Packet Pick Up

• Thursday and Friday: September 18th and 19th at Lauren's Closet, 1420 Park St, Alameda, CA 94501 (10:00am - 6:00pm) * We encourage you to get your BIB and shirt early and sleep in race morning!
• Saturday: 1:00pm - 5:00pm at Race Start/Finish Expo 2501 Monarch St, Alameda Point - Faction Brewery
• Sunday: 6:30am - 8:15am at Race Start/Finish Expo 2501 Monarch St. Alameda Point - Faction Brewery

Race Events and Schedule

• Saturday: Newly added! Hella Bae Running 5k and 1 Mile Shake-out run presented by Skechers at 1:00pm.
• Sunday Half Marathon: 7:45am * Note the slightly later start time.
• 10K: 8:00am
• 5k Presented by Penumbra: 8:15am

Race Timing and Restrictions

The Island Running Festival is a chip-timed event. Participants can run, jog, or walk the entire course.

• Strollers: Jogging strollers are permitted but are asked to start in the back of the pack.
• Wheelchairs: Wheelchair athletes are permitted but cannot travel faster than the fastest runner.
• Restrictions: No bikes, scooters, skateboards, or other wheeled vehicles are allowed.
• Dogs: No dogs are allowed on the course or at the finish line.

We will provide bike parking for those of you that prefer to bike to the event. See the race website for more details.

Medical and Water Stops

We will have a dedicated paramedics team on site and available to help assess your race day medical needs and administer acute first aid when necessary. A medical station will be located near the finish line and team members will be roaming the course.

• Water Stops - Half: Mile 2, 5.5 & 11.
• Water Stops - 10K: Mile 2, 5.5.
• Water Stops - 5K: Mile 2 & 2.5.
