Hot Pursuit 5k & 1 Mile Catch-A-Cop

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

• Race Types: Hot Pursuit 5K Run/Walk & 1 Mile Catch-A-Cop
• Details: Chip timed race starting and finishing at Doodle Park on a Certified Course.

👮‍♂️ 1 Mile Catch-A-Cop

• Participants: Open to kids in 5th grade and under.
• Activity: Kids attempt to "catch a cop" and collect flags on a course from Doodle Park to Bruce Field.
• Return Procession: Participants ride back to Doodle Park in a procession of police cars.
• Community Impact: Proceeds go towards a wheelchair accessible swing in Easley, SC.

👩‍🎓 Youth Leadership Academy Involvement

• Purpose: Charter middle school serving 288 students in grades 6-8.
• Service Projects: Involves community benefit projects annually.
• Previous Projects: Raised funds through a Burpeethon for special needs children.
• This Year's Focus: Providing wheelchair accessible swings at Doodle Park.

🕘 Race Timing

• Start Time: 9:00 AM
• Awards Ceremony: Around 10:00 AM after the last participant finishes.
• Award Categories: 1st/2nd/3rd overall for M/F under 40 and ages 40+ (Masters).
• Age Level Awards: Given in 10 year intervals.

📅 Registration Information

• Cost: Includes race entry with timing, race t-shirt, and finishing medal.
• T-Shirt Cut Off: March 31 for t-shirt inclusion.
• Post-Cut Off: Registration after April 30 does not include a t-shirt.

📍 Packet Pick-Up

• Pre-Race Pick-Up: Friday, April 11 from 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM at Pickens Doodle Park.
• Morning Pick-Up: Saturday from 7:00 AM - 8:30 AM at Pickens Doodle Park.

• Course/Event Sponsor: Name/logo on signs, banner, race t-shirt, social media recognition, and 5 race entries.
• Finish Line Sponsor: Name/logo on signs, banner, race t-shirt, social media recognition, and 3 race entries.
