Backyard Ultra Tailgate

Event Overview

The first annual Backyard Ultra Tailgate is coming to Greenville!

• Date: November 8th, 2025
• Start Time: 8 am
• Location: 819 Laurens Rd, Greenville, SC
• Course: 5k on the Swamp Rabbit Trail

Race Format

Starting at 8 am on November 8th, 2025, we will be going out every hour on the hour for a 5k course on the Swamp Rabbit Trail. Go for 1 lap or 10, whatever you're up for.

• Laps: Complete as many laps as you desire.
• Activities: Games, raffles, vendors, and football on a big screen.
• Bring: Lawn chairs and snacks.

Beneficiary

Proceeds from this event will be going to OVC Kenya - a program that provides sustainable support and promotes long-term relationships with vulnerable children in Kenya by partnering with local churches to provide physical, academic, and relational support to children in need within these local communities.

• Education: Children are provided with an education and opportunity to develop life skills.
• Support: Focus on mental, emotional, and spiritual growth.
• Aim: Break the cycle of poverty within these communities.
• Partnership: Collaboration with local churches to create lasting impact.

Raffles

Each lap will be sponsored by a local business with a corresponding raffle prize every hour. Every lap completed within a 55-minute cut off mark earns you a raffle ticket.

• Raffle Tickets: Must be completed within 55 minutes to earn a ticket.
• Extra Tickets: Available for purchase to benefit OVC Kenya program ($3 each or 4 for $10).
• Local Business Support: A chance to win local business prizes every hour.
• Community Involvement: Engage with local vendors while supporting a good cause.

Important Note

In order to keep costs low and maximize donations, at this time we do not plan on having an official timing system at this event.
