Independence Rhode Race

🎉 Race Overview

The Independence Rhode Race will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026. In partnership with the Bristol Fourth of July Committee, the half marathon will follow the beautiful downtown streets of America’s quintessential community when it is decked out in its finest - during the Oldest 4th of July Celebration in America.

• Course Highlights: Incredible historic homes, a town common, and the America’s Cup Museum.
• Scenic Route: Along the coastline, through Roger Williams University, following the parade route.
• Finish Line: Located along the water at Independence Park.

🍻 Post Race Party

The Official Post Race Party will be Pivotal Brewing, 500 Wood St, Bristol (Mile 3 of the course). Join us after the race, and show your bib for one free beer on race day only.

Please Note: The Independence Rhode Race will be happening rain or shine. Because of the logistics of planning for a race of this size, we cannot offer refunds for any reason. In the event that the weather is severe enough to create an unsafe environment for participants, organizers will cancel the event with no refunds issued.

🔍 ID and Age Requirements

You must show your ID when picking up your registration materials. There are no age restrictions to this race.

🚗 Transport and Parking

Parking is recommended at Guiteras School, the free Bristol Town lots, or on-street parking.

🔄 Transfer or Defer Registration

Yes - you can transfer your bib, transfer your race entry to select other races in our portfolio within one year, or defer your entry to next year's race. Transfer and deferral requests must be received before online registration closes, typically 2 days before race day. Please visit this link for steps to complete this procedure.

YES! Individuals can refer 3 friends using their unique referral code and receive $15 back - or - for larger groups of 10 or more, each member of the group will receive $5 to $15 in refunds, depending on the size of the group! Sign up on the same team for the refund to be automatically applied when thresholds are reached.
