- Registration: August 9 at 7:30 am to 8:30 am sharp! @ Tribs Coffee Shop at 241 North 4th Street.
- 5K Run/Walk Start Time: 9 am
- 1k Kids Fun Run: 10 am

🎗️ About the Event
Join us for the Third Annual Memorial 5K Charity Event honoring Louann Burchfield and Kathy Hannan Hale benefiting cancer patients and their families through The Sunshine Charity. All proceeds will benefit those battling cancer and their families facing financial strains to help with co-pays, groceries, gas, travel expenses, lodging, and more.
- Starting Point: The race will begin at Tri B’s Coffee Shop.
- Route: Proceeding to River Avenue and Old Route 7 along a flat scenic route along the Ohio River.
- Post-Race: Returning to Tri B’s Coffee Shop where lotus drinks will be available with proceeds supporting the Sunlight Fund.
- Family Fun: Enjoy a timed 5K run or walk and a 1k Kids Fun Run for ages 12 and under.
🎨 Dress for the Cause
Get decked out in as many colors as you like, the wilder the better or whichever is specific to your heart. Each type of cancer has a special color to honor those it has affected.

- Virtual Option: A virtual option is available for those unable to join us in person.
- Share Your Journey: Follow along from anywhere and share pictures and videos on our social media page of you decked out and who you are honoring.
🚶♂️ Leisure Option
We are excited to introduce the Leisure Option for this year’s Colors of Cancer 5K!
- No Pressure: Perfect for those who want to walk, jog, or simply enjoy the event at their own pace without worrying about time or competition.
- Flexible Distance: Complete as much or as little of the course as you like. Your participation is what matters most!
- Community Spirit: Receive a race bib and be part of all the festivities, but eligibility for timed awards is not included.
- Inclusive Participation: Regardless of how you choose to participate, your involvement makes a difference in the fight against cancer.
🤝 Community Support
Leading up to the event, anyone who would like can share their journey in our Facebook group, and funds to those in need will be distributed following race day.
- Honor Loved Ones: Feel free to post stories of any loved ones still with us or not that you would like to honor in our Facebook Group throughout the year.
