About this race
Race Overview
The Shades of Death 10 Miler is a challenging 10 mile loop backroad run/hike located in Avella, PA. It will start and finish at the Polar Star Club. The run/walk will take you on multiple back roads with scenic views of farms and forests including Shades of Death Road.
Course Details
- Ascent: Over 1200' of Ascent
- Descent: 1200' of Descent
- Cutoff Time: 4-hour cutoff to finish
- Aid Stations: 3 official Aid stations located near mile 3, 6, and 8
Post-Race Activities
You are invited to stick around after the race for a meal (included for racers), drinks, and live music!
Charity and Donations
All donations and profits will benefit area Volunteer Fire Departments and other local charities.
