Race Description

• About: Support the South Hills Children's Choir for a song. Run/walk the beautiful Panhandle Trail and let your pavement pounding give more kids a chance to sing!
• Course: Soles for Songs is an out-n-back race in Southwestern PA on the Panhandle rail-trail located at Helicon Brewing in Oakdale. All proceeds benefit the non-profit South Hills Children's Choir's scholarship fund.
• Weather: With cool early spring temperatures, and a flat out-n-back, this is a great event to set a PR!
• Runners: Please signup for the 5K, 10K, or both, if you are up for a challenge!
• Walkers: Please ONLY signup for the 5K run/walk.

Cost

• 5K (Runners & Walkers): Early registration on, or before, 03/05/27: $30.00 (+ processing fee)
• Late registration: After 03/05/27: $40.00 (+ processing fee)
• 10K (Runners only): Early registration on, or before, 03/05/27: $35.00 (+ processing fee)
• Late registration: After 03/05/27: $45.00 (+ processing fee)
• Both 5K & 10K: Early registration on, or before, 03/05/27: $45.00 (+ processing fee)
• Late registration: After 03/05/27: $55.00 (+ processing fee)

Parking

• Location: Free parking in the Helicon Brewing paved lot.
• Additional: Extra parking available on the grass located on the left and right of the Helicon Brewing entrance.

Registration & Packet Pickup

• Start Time: Registration and packet pickup start at 8:00 AM on race day.
• Race Start: 5K run/walk starts at 9:00 AM and 10K run starts at 10:45 AM.
• Duration: Each race will be capped at 90 minutes.
• Registration: Online registration closes on 04/02/27 at noon: cash-only registration available on race day.

Rules

• Limit: Each race is limited to 90 minutes: participants finishing after will be disqualified.
• Trail Etiquette: Please share the trail and keep to the right side, with no more than two abreast.
• Family & Pets: Children, pets, and strollers are welcome, keep room on your left for others to pass.
• Clean Up: Please do not litter and pick up after your pets.
• Completion: Notify the organizer if you do not finish.
• Prohibited: No bikes allowed.
• Visible Bib: Please have your bib visible on the front of your body.
• Enjoy: Have fun!

Swag

• Registration Bonus: Early registrants will receive a t-shirt and a "goodies" bag.
• Late Registrants: Not guaranteed a shirt and/or bag.

Restrooms

• Availability: The restrooms in the Helicon Brewing building will be available.

Aid Stations

• Location: The aid station at the start/finish will have water and other food items for participants.
• 5K Water Stations: Mile 0.8 and 2.3
• 10K Water Stations: Mile 0.8, 2.2, 4.0, and 5.4

Course

• Trail: 5K & 10K out-n-back on crushed limestone of the Panhandle Trail.

Food

• Coffee: The Roaming Bean will be on hand in the morning.
• Food Truck: Helicon Brewing opens at 11 AM.
• Nearby Options: Within walking distance are The Diner, Pepperoncini's Pub & El Marro Restaurant.
