Mountaineer 5K

What is the Mountaineer 5k?

The Mountaineer 5k is a 5-kilometer race organized by the Summit Academy Parent Teacher Organization.

We welcome runners, walkers, and strollers, but no pets are allowed. The race benefits Summit Academy Mountaineers. We also want to raise health and fitness awareness, and this is a great opportunity to start or continue your wellness journey!

Registration Cost:

• Now - January 18, 2026: $25.00
• January 19, 2026 - February 18, 2026: $35.00
• February 19, 2026 - March 18, 2026: $45.00
• March 19, 2026 - March 28, 2026: $50.00

What is included in your registration?

• An Awesome finishers medal
• Cool t-shirt
• Water stations along the course
• Post-Race food and drinks at our finish line festival

To be guaranteed a shirt and medal please register by February 28th.

Awards:

Overall and Age Group Awards that will be custom made by students in the Dobson High School Ceramics Department. Awards Ceremony will begin at 9am.

• Age Groups: 6 and under, 7-8 year olds, 9-10 year olds, 11-12 year olds
• Continued Age Groups: 13-14 year olds, 15-17 year olds, 18-24 year olds, 25-29 year olds
• More Age Groups: 30-34 year olds, 35-39 year olds, 40-44 year olds, 45-49 year olds
• Final Age Groups: 50-54 year olds, 55-59 year olds, 60-64 year olds, 65-69 year olds, 70-74 year olds, 75 and Up

The Course:

We will start at the Summit Academy Junior High Track, run one loop around the track then onto the canal. The majority of the race will be on the canal and finishing at the Junior High Track.

Packet Pick up:

• Date and Time: Friday 3/27 2:30pm-5pm in front of Summit Academy Junior High, 1550 W Summit Place, Chandler, AZ
• Alternative Location: Habit Burger 3/27 5pm-7pm
• Morning Pick-up: Available on 3/28 starting at 6:30am
• Grab your bib number: At Habit Burger, get in your protein and carbs!

Race Day Information:

• No devices: No roller blades, skateboards or motorized devices are allowed on the run or walk courses.
• Weather Policy: We run rain or shine. There are no refunds or transfer due to weather.
• Start Time: We will be starting promptly at 8am.
• Parking: Park in the Desert Oasis parking lot, Summit Academy parking lot or on the street where parking is permitted.
