Mountaineer 5K

🏔️ What is the Mountaineer 5k?

The Mountaineer 5k is a 5-kilometer race organized by the Summit Academy Parent Teacher Organization.

• Participants: We welcome runners, walkers, and strollers, but no pets allowed.
• Purpose: The race benefits Summit Academy Mountaineers and aims to raise health and fitness awareness.
• Opportunity: This is a great opportunity to start or continue your wellness journey!

💲 Registration Cost:

• Now - January 18, 2026: $25.00
• January 19, 2026 - February 18, 2026: $35.00
• February 19, 2026 - March 18, 2026: $45.00
• March 19, 2026 - March 28, 2026: $50.00

🎁 What is included in your registration?

• Finishers Medal: An Awesome finishers medal.
• T-Shirt: Cool t-shirt (to be guaranteed a shirt and medal please register by February 28th).
• Water Stations: Water stations along the course.
• Awards: Overall and Age Group Awards custom made by students in the Dobson High School Ceramics Department. Awards Ceremony will begin at 9am.

Our age group awards include the following:

• 6 and under: Age group.
• 8-7 year olds: Age group.
• 9-10 year olds: Age group.
• 11-12 year olds: Age group.
• 13-14 year olds: Age group.
• 15-17 year olds: Age group.
• 18-24 year olds: Age group.
• 25-29 year olds: Age group.
• 30-34 year olds: Age group.
• 35-39 year olds: Age group.
• 40-44 year olds: Age group.
• 45-49 year olds: Age group.
• 50-54 year olds: Age group.
• 55-59 year olds: Age group.
• 60-64 year olds: Age group.
• 65-69 year olds: Age group.
• 70-74 year olds: Age group.
• 75 and Up: Age group.

🍔 Post-Race Information:

• Food and Drinks: Post-race food and drinks at our finish line festival.
• Timing: Chip Timed with Real Time Results.
• Note: Any race-related items (shirts, medals, etc.) will NOT be mailed to those that do not attend and no refunds will be given.

📍 The Course:

We will start at the Summit Academy Junior High Track, run one loop around the track then onto the canal. The majority of the race will be on the canal and finishing at the Junior High Track.

📦 Packet Pick Up:

2 Options:

• Friday 3/27: 2:30pm-5pm Packet Pick up in front of Summit Academy Junior High 1550 W Summit Place, Chandler, AZ.
• Habit Burger 3/27: 5pm-7pm Packet pick up, grab your bib number and get in your protein and carbs! Habit Burger 1817 E Guadalupe Rd #102, Tempe, AZ 85283.
• Race Day Pick-Up: Packet pick-up will be morning 3/28 of the race starting at 6:30am.

🚫 Race Day Information:

• Prohibitions: No roller blades, skateboards or motorized devices are allowed on the run or walk courses.
• Weather Policy: We run rain or shine. There are no refunds or transfer due to weather.
• Start Time: We will be starting promptly at 8am.
• Parking: Park in the Desert Oasis parking lot, Summit Academy parking lot or on the street where parking is permitted.
