Join us at our Sweet 16 Running Strong Charity Event, celebrating 16 years on Saturday, November 14, 2026.

Event Overview

• Location: 2009 Township Drive, Commerce, MI
• Event Type: Outrun Hunger is a 5K and 1 Mile charity event
• Beneficiaries: Partnering with Hospitality House Food Pantry of Commerce and Open Door Outreach Center of Waterford
• Community Impact: 100% of participant registrations and donations go back to our community for those in need

2026 Awards and Giveaways: Individuals and Teams

Participant Giveaways:

• Early Registration: Register by Sunday, October 25th, and receive a free Custom Outrun Hunger Ball Cap
• Gift Card: Register by Sunday, November 1st, and receive a free $10 Kroger Gift Card
• Finisher Medal: Sweet 16 Running Strong Finisher Medal — available to participants who opt-in during registration

Entry Fees

• Participants 12 and under: Entry fee is $25 any time when registering

Individual Awards

• 5K Overall Awards: $50 Amazon gift card for Overall/Masters Male/Female by age group
• Age Groups: Overall Male/Female, Masters Male/Female (40+), Grand Masters (50+), Senior Grand Masters (60+), Veteran Masters (70+)
• 5K New This Year: Awards are 3 deep: 1st Place $25, 2nd Place $15, 3rd Place $10 Amazon gift cards by age group

1 Mile Awards

• 1st Place: $20 Kroger gift card for age groups 5-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89

If first place isn’t for you, stick around after the award ceremony for free raffle drawings!

Chip Timing

The race will be professionally chip timed by the Michigan Running Foundation.

Team Challenge Giveaways

Team member registration deadline is Sunday November 8th - Sponsored by The Kroger Co. of Michigan

• Team Formation: Bring together a team (5 or more) to run/walk the 5K
• Gift Cards: Two ways to win a $10 Kroger gift card for each team member
• Categories: Largest team of participants and fastest team to cross the finish line
• Eligibility: Team members eligible for overall/individual age group awards

1 Mile Team Challenge

Similar to the 5K Team Challenge but for the 1 Mile event with the same regulations and prizes.

Kids Team Challenge

• 5K Kids Team Challenge (12 and under): Team member registration deadline is Sunday November 8th
• Participation: Teams of 3 or more qualify
• Prizes: Ways to win a $10 Dairy Queen gift card for each team member
• Awards: Individual age group awards are also available
