Sunflower Trail Run

🌻 Event Overview

• Date: August 29, 2026
• Location: 13209 East 82nd Avenue, Buhler, KS
• Distance: Unique 5K and 1 Mile course through more than 20 acres of sunflowers

🕒 Race Times

• 5K - Competitive Division: 8:00am - RUNNERS ONLY. No walking or strollers allowed.
• 1 Mile: 8:30am - Run/Walk. Strollers allowed.
• 5K - Non Competitive Division: 9:00am - Run/Walk. Strollers allowed.
• Check-in: Begins at 7:00 am: please check in at least 30 min prior to start time.

🏅 Swag

• Included: Original Sunflower Trail Run Finisher t-shirt, medal, and a free admission pass to the Kansas Maze sunflower festival.
• T-shirt Availability: Not guaranteed if registered after Aug 1: extras may not be available in your size.

👥 Teams

• Requirements: Teams must have at least 4 members.
• Team Types: Create family, workplace, or club teams - running together is more fun!
• Registration: The first person registers to create a team name, others use the same name.

🏆 Medals & Awards

• 5K Competitive Division: Prizes awarded to the top finisher in each age category.
• Age Categories: 10 & under, 11-17, 18-35, 36-50, 51-65, 65+
• All Participants: Will receive a finisher medal and t-shirt!

🥞 Food

• Pancakes: Free pancakes will be served following the races!

🚫 Spectators

• Restrictions: Spectators are not allowed on the course or in the sunflower field.
• Viewing Areas: Accessible from lookout bridge or other platforms.

⚠️ Conditions

• Trail Course: Runners must stay on the pathways: violators will be disqualified.
• Safety: Uneven ground expected: course may be muddy if it rains before race day.
• Bees: Pollinating bees will be present in the sunflower field!

⏱️ Race Day Timing

• Timing: Provided by Morgan Sports, LLC.
• Cancellation Policy: Kansas Maze reserves the right to cancel or change the event for safety.
