Run before Walk 5K (Labor Day Mackinac Bridge Walk Weekend)

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

Join Yooper Running Company on Sunday, August 31, the day before the world-famous Labor Day Mackinac Bridge Walk. Run before Walk 5K (RB4W) takes place along one of the most gorgeous, stunning, and little-known views of the Mackinac Bridge at 9:00am.

🔑 Entry Limitations

• Limit: There is a limit of 150 entries for this unique event.
• Registration: Online registration will be available until 11:59pm on August 30, or until the maximum of 150 entries is reached.
• No Race Day Registration: THERE WILL BE NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION AVAILABLE.

• August: $50.00 (Online Registration Closes 11:59pm on Saturday, August 30)

🎟️ Bib Pickup Details

• Early Pickup: Two days before the race at Birdseye Outfitters from 4-6pm in Sault Sainte Marie.
• One Day Prior: Saturday, August 30, at Bridge View Park from 3-6pm.
• Race Day Pickup: For pre-registered participants from 7:00am-8:30am near the start/finish area.
• Location: Bridge View Park is located at Boulevard Dr., St. Ignace, MI, 49781.

🏅 Medals & T-Shirts

• Medals: Will be given to all participants that finish the 5K run or walk, created by Local Artisan Oaklawn Laser Works (Dafter, MI).
• T-Shirts: Yooper Running Company Shirt or Custom Event Shirt will be given to all participants during bib pickup.

🏆 Awards

• Age Group Awards: 0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+. Stained glass medallions for 1st place in each age group provided by Bricco Designs.
• Overall Awards: Top Male and Female, top Master Male and Female (40+), and top Grand Master Male and Female (60+) will receive a custom water colored plaque from Bricco Designs.

⏱️ Timing

Yooper Running Company times their own events with the Race Results 5000s Decoder utilizing bibs with double transponders for accurate chip timing. A live results link will be added to this section as well as included in an email 1-2 days prior to race day!

🚗 Parking

Parking will be available in a grass lot at Bridge View Park. There will be volunteers directing parking on race day. We ask to avoid parking in the main asphalt lot to allow travelers, that are not participating in the race, ample parking space. Parking is free.

🏞️ Course Details

The course will start in a grassy section of Bridge View Park at the 12 foot tall Yooper Running Company blow up arch (you can't miss it). You will proceed to Boulevard Drive and run/walk West for 1.55 miles before turning around to head towards the finish. There are excellent bridge and water views in both directions along the course. Boulevard Drive is composed of hard packed limestone gravel. There are a few potholes but otherwise it is a smooth road. Make sure not to trespass on beach areas for pictures as most areas are privately owned along the course. Refreshments provided include water, gatorade, juice boxes, chips, fruit snacks, bananas, and an assortment of cookies at the finish. There will be an aid station at the turn around with water and gatorade.
