Tortoise and the Hare Trail Races

🎉 Event Details

• Date: Saturday, April 4, 2026
• Start Times: 10AM - 5K & 10K and 9:30AM - COLOR RUN
• Description: Join us in celebrating with us Easter Weekend at the Tortoise and the Hare 5K & 10K and Color Run!! The event continues to fundraise for the Salisbury Parks and Recreation.

📦 Packet Pickup

• Early Packet Pickup: Friday at Salisbury Senior Center (43 Lafayette Rd) from 11-2PM.
• Race Day Registration: Opens at 8:45AM at Lions Park under the pavilion!

💵 5K/10K Fees

• Standard Fees: $25 through 12/31, $30 through 3/31, $35 through 4/3 until 8PM, $45 on Race Day.
• Youth Fee (15 & Under): $20, $25 on race day.

🌈 Color Run

• Entry Fee: 1 MILE COLOR RUN (NOT TIMED): $25, $30 on race day includes a t-shirt.
• Start Time: 9:30AM!
• Color Dousing: At each 1/4 mile mark, Color Runners are doused from head to toe in a different colored powder.
• Recommendations: Some color runners opt to wear glasses or goggles for their eyes and use a bandana or dust mask for their mouths.

• Location: All courses will take place within the Salisbury Trail System.

🎽 Swag

• T-Shirt: Dry fit, super soft custom t-shirt, guaranteed to all participants before April 1st!

🏆 Awards

• Overall Awards: Top 3 Overall Male and Female Hare in the 5K and 10K.
• Age Group Awards: Top 3 Male and Female in the 5K/10K in each AG: 15 & under, 16-19, 20-39, 40-59, 60-75, 76+
• Non-Binary Awards: Top 3 Non-Binary.
• Note: NO Double Dipping.

🚗 Parking

• Main Parking: DPW and Senior Center, 39/43 Lafayette Rd-Salisbury, MA.
• Overflow Parking: Boys and Girls Club and Salisbury Elementary School.

🍏 Post Race

• Snacks: A variety of packaged snacks and fruit will be available.
• Entertainment: Music & entertainment provided by Evolvement Radio!
• Free Beer: Those 21+ can grab 1 FREE beer on site using their ticket on their race bib!
• Celebration: A big shout out to our series wide, year long, post race pour provider, Sylvan Street Grille!

🎯 Beneficiary

• Support: 100% of the net proceeds will be allocated to the Salisbury Parks and Recreation.

🌦️ Weather Policy

• Conditions: Races are rain, snow or shine unless we determine that race conditions are dangerous.
• Cancellation: If the race needs to be cancelled, there will be no refunds but we will work to establish a postponement date.

🔁 Race Refunds & Event Cancellations

• Deferral and Transfer: FREE deferral and transfer policy through March 4th.
• Refunds: $10 fee for administration purposes after March 1st (without insurance).
• Cancellation: The event will be rescheduled if possible in case of public safety or inclement weather.
