North Reading 5k Turkey Trot

🦃 Race Details

• Date: Thanksgiving Morning, Thursday, November 27, 2025
• Time: 8:00 am (rain or shine)
• Location: 15 Central St, North Reading, MA
• Maximum Entries: 1500 Runners

🎓 Purpose

• Sponsored by: North Reading Hornet Hall of Fame Committee
• Proceeds: Support 2 scholarships for deserving graduating seniors at NRHS
• Benefit: Funds benefit the North Reading Middle/High School sports program

🏃‍♂️ Event Description

• Race/Walk: 5k RACE and 1.75 Mile WALK - both start and finish at the same spot and time.
• Start Time: The event will begin promptly at 8:00 AM
• Walking Participants: Please use the shorter course
• Completion: The event should conclude by 9:00 AM

🏅 North Reading Elementary School Challenge

• Goal: 20% of the student body from each school to participate on race day
• Incentives: Extra points awarded for top finishers in age groups

👕 Registration

• Pre-register: By midnight, 11/9, for lower registration fees &: guaranteed t-shirt size
• T-Shirt: 50/50 cotton/polyester: not guaranteed if registering after 11/9/2025
• Entry Fees:
  • Students: $20 Pre-registration, $30 Registration (after 11/9)
  • Adults: $30 Pre-registration, $40 Registration (after 11/9)
  • Family (4-Max): $80 Pre-registration, $90 Registration (after 11/9)
  • Family (5-6 members): $100 Pre-registration, $115 Registration (after 11/9)

🏆 Awards

• Awards: Overall winners of female and male divisions receive the Frederick A. Keyes Memorial Award
• Top Finishers: Top 2 female/male in all age categories and top 2 families win prizes
• Notification: Prizewinners will be notified by email/mail

📍 Pick-Up Information

• Pre-Race Bib Pick Up: North Reading Middle/High School Cafeteria, 189 Park Street, Monday, 11/24 (4:00 – 7:00 PM)
• Alternative Bib Pick Up: Marathon Sports, 668 Main Street, Reading, MA on November 22 (10 AM - 3 PM) & November 23 (11 AM - 3 PM)
• Changes: Must be done at MS/HS on Monday, 11/24

🍂 Food Drive

• Hosted by: North Reading Middle School Early-Act Club
• Donations: Accepted during pre-race number pick-up
• Needed Items: Check the NR Food Pantry website for details: nrfoodpantry.org

🚶‍♀️ Event Guidelines

• Strollers: Welcome!
• Restrictions: Please, no dogs or bikes
• Safety: Roads are NOT closed to traffic due to many young participants
