Daytona Beach’s Easter Beach Run

EVENT OVERVIEW

• History: This festive, Easter-themed beach run was established in 1967 by the City of Daytona Beach.
• Tradition: The race was first held on Easter Sunday to provide an activity for visiting college students.
• Significance: It is now the oldest consecutive footrace in the State of Florida.
• Distance: Participants will enjoy a scenic run on the World’s Most Famous Beach for a 4-mile race, 2-mile fun run, or health walk.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

• 6:15 a.m.: Packet Pickup Opens
• 6:45 a.m.: Line Dance Warm-up
• 7:30 a.m.: 4 mile & 2 mile Start together at the same time
• 8:30 a.m.: Kids Race

RACES

• 4 Mile &: 2 Mile Races: Held on the beach at the Bandshell - 70 Boardwalk, Daytona Beach, FL 32118
• Start Time: 7:30 a.m. for both races (all ages, teams welcome)
• Kids Races: 50 yards (3-5 years), 100 yards (6-7 years), 1/4 mile (8-9 years)
• Kid’s Race Time: 8:30 a.m.

FEES

• Registration: 2-mile or 4-mile Race Registration - $35 - Seniors 60 & Over $30
• Late Registration: 2-mile or 4-mile Race Registration - $40 After April 9th - Seniors 60 & Over $35
• Youth Pre-registration: 2-mile or 4-mile races for Youth 9 & Under - $20
• Cash Policy: CASH NOT ACCEPTED ON RACE DAY

KIDS RACES

• Entry Fee: Kids races (50yd/100yd/1/4 mile) - $20 Entry
• Dual Registration: Youth wanting to participate in a kid’s race and the 2-mile or 4-mile race will need to register for both separately at $20 each.
• Total Cost: $40 total to participate in both events.
• Pre-race Packet Pickup: Info TBD

AWARDS

• Medals: 2027 custom “finisher” medals for the first 800 registered runners and walkers completing the race.
• Age Groups: 4 mile - Top Overall Male & Top Overall Female + 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female in various age groups.
• Age Groups: 2 mile - Top Overall Male & Top Overall Female + 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female in various age groups.
• Chip Timing: Both Races are chip timed.

KIDS RACE PARTICIPANT MEDALS

• Medals: Each “Kids Race” participant receives a participant medal!
• Award Ceremonies: Held following each race at the race site.
• Results: Available online after the completion of each event.
• Award Pickup: Awards not picked up race day may be picked up weekdays for 30 days after the race.

IMPORTANT PARKING INFORMATION

• Parking Location: Available in the Ocean Walk parking lot for a fee.
• Parking Cost: $5 per hour or $15 for the day.
• Duration: Check for maximum length of stay and hours of operation.
• Commuter Advice: Arrive early to secure parking.
