STEM 5K at Biddeford Middle School

👻 Welcome to the Annual SPOOKY 5K!

BMS STEM students are excited to host our Annual SPOOKY 5K this year. The idea for this race was born as a student-led project. Students work alongside their teachers in planning and hosting this event.

🎉 Purpose of the Event

• Community Engagement: The purpose is to promote positive community.
• Fundraising: Raise money for special STEM learning activities at BMS.
• Enrichment: Money goes toward field trips and other endeavors to enrich our students' experience at school.
• Skill Development: Students learn valuable skills in planning aspects like fundraising, marketing/design, course planning, and race officiating.

👗 Costume Contest

This event takes place near Halloween, so costumes are encouraged! The course also contains Halloween themed decorations.

🍬 Candy K Event

There is an additional event that takes place during the 5K, called the Candy K. This fun event is geared toward children 10 and younger and includes age appropriate games and a 1 kilometer fun-run, during which participants collect candy and traverse through a decorated course.
