STEM 5K at Biddeford Middle School

🎉 Race Overview

BMS STEM students are excited to host our Annual SPOOKY 5K this year. The idea for this race was born as a student-led project. Students work alongside their teachers in planning and hosting this event.

💡 Purpose of the Event

• Community Engagement: The purpose is to promote positive community.
• Fundraising: To raise money for special STEM learning activities at BMS.
• Enrichment: The money goes toward field trips and other endeavors to enrich our students' experience at school.
• Skill Development: Students learn many valuable skills as they work on various planning aspects of the project such as fundraising, marketing/design, course planning, and race officiating.

🎃 Event Highlights

• Costumes: The event takes place near Halloween, so costumes are encouraged!
• Decorations: The course contains Halloween themed decorations.
• Candy K: An additional event called the Candy K takes place during the 5K.
• Kid-Friendly: The Candy K is geared toward children 10 and younger and includes age appropriate games and a 1 kilometer fun-run.
