Pre Reg 2026 Torrance Memorial Medical Center, BRA Run, Los Angeles

🏃‍♀️ Day of Event

Our 14th Annual 5K & 13K are held on a fully paved course next to the sand in Playa Del Rey on August 30th, 2026.

• 6:00am: Parking Lots Open (LA County charges $13, bring cash). The line backs up so arrive early.
• 7:00am: Registration and Vendor Booths Open.
• 7:05am: Warm up for Bike Tour.
• 7:10am: Bike Tour Starts.

• 7:30am: Costume Contests.
• 7:40am: Warm Up for 5/13k.
• 8:06am: National Anthem 🇺🇸.
• 8:10am: 13K start (2 hour time limit, 15 min per mile pace or faster).

• 8:30am: 5K start.
• 10:00am: Kids Run starts (time is approximate and depends on when the last 13K walkers are off so kids can run clear).
• 10:10am: Awards Ceremony.

💖 Charity

In its 14th year, The BRA Run supports Evelyn’s BFF, a charity that helps breast cancer survivors get back to their new normal while supporting counseling, reconstruction, and other items that people are often not able to get covered by their insurance. Most of our grant recipients have bills going into 6 figures! This event is the biggest fundraiser for this all volunteer organization and determines how many people they can help this year.

• Evelyn: The founder of the Evelyn's Breast Friends Forever (BFF), a 501(c)3 non-profit public benefit charity foundation, started this event in 2013.
• Risk: Women have a 1 in 8 risk (or 13%) of having breast cancer in their life.
• Distance: A 13K is also slightly more than 8 miles.
• Awareness: Our event spreads awareness of breast cancer reconstruction to the community.

🎭 Costume Contest

Dress up in celebration of the BRA Run! Our participants get creative with their attire and we have awards to celebrate. Wear a decorated bra (sports bra, lacy bra, nursing bra, any type of bra) or dress up your shirt! You can wear the bra on its own or over a shirt.

• Winners: Announced in the following categories:
• Female Individual: Best Decorated Bra.
• Male Individual: Best Decorated Bra.
• Team: Best Dressed (teams must have 5 or more people to enter the team competitions).

🏅 Make it a Virtual Run/Walk

Can't make it in person but want to be a part of the event and support breast cancer survivors? Sign up for the virtual run and we will mail you a bib, shirt and medal.

🌊 Beach to City Challenge

Want to nab an additional medal? Take part in the Beach to City Challenge with the Greta Garbo medal!

• Greta Garbo: The cinematic legend and breast cancer survivor, called Culver City home, so we celebrate her with a special medal.
• Bonus Bling: Run both the BRA Run and Screenland 5k (in Culver City) back-to-back to claim this bonus.
• Claiming Medals: If you ran Screenland 5k 2025 and BRA Run 2025, you can claim your medal at BRA Run 2025.
• Registration: Sign up for Screenland 5k 2025 to ensure your Greta Garbo medal.
