🌍 Participation Options

Due to popular interest and the opportunity to support our community hospital and Evergreen Living Center wherever you may be, Mackinac Straits Health Foundation is offering an in-person AND a virtual run/walk. Those who love participating with fellow runners and walkers can do so at our regular location on the Mackinac Straits Health System campus in St. Ignace, MI. Those who would prefer to participate virtually can do so from any location. It could be your backyard, a nearby trail, on your treadmill inside your home, or even from another state!

🌈 New for 2025!

We are excited to share that participants joining us during our IN-PERSON races will have the opportunity to participate in our color run option! Those who opt in for this excitement are encouraged to wear white clothing to ensure the colors stand out! Additionally, after you complete your race, members from Mackinac Straits Health System will be available to hand out ROOT BEER FLOATS! We are excited to see you in August for another fun-filled race!

📅 Important Dates

• Early Bird Registration: Opens November 1, 2024
• Discounted Registration Pricing: Ends January 31, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
• T-shirt or Tank Top Guarantee: Ends June 30, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
• Online Registration for IN-PERSON ONLY: Ends July 25, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. (in-person registration available at 8:00 a.m. on race day)
• In-Person event: August 9, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.
• Virtual event: August 9, 2025, to August 23, 2025, at 11:00 p.m.

*We guarantee a specially designed t-shirt or tank top and a cool medal to those who register by Monday, June 30, 2025. Virtual participants can expect to have their shirts and medals mailed to them before the race. We DO NOT ship to Canada.

🏆 Award Information

We have custom awards for our overall male and female finishers for each race handcrafted by our local LaSalle High School Woodshop class.

Handmade awards will also be presented for each race in age categories: 10 and under: 11-18: 19-34: 35-49: 50-64: 65+.

📍 Course Directions

The 5K and 10K races will begin at Mackinac Straits Health System in St. Ignace at approx. 9:15. Both courses will loop out to North State Street before running N. Airport Rd past the airport and up a small hill to S. Airport Rd. All runners will run downhill on S. Airport Rd, where 5K runners will run back toward the hospital on N. State St. and loop around the hospital/Evergreen Living Center to the finish line. 10K runners will turn right on N. State St. from S. Airport Rd. and run to Reagon St and then on to Lemotte St, which will turn into Cheeseman Rd. Runners will turn around at Cheeseman a little over a mile out and return to the hospital to complete the loop around the hospital/Evergreen to the finish line.* We will have standing signs, painted signs on the road, and volunteers strategically placed throughout the courses.
