Save the date for our 19th annual event on Saturday, March 7, 2026.

🏃‍♂️ What is the Heat the Streets Run & Walk for Warmth?

• Event Types: Participants can register for a timed 5K run, timed 10K run, or an untimed two-mile walk.
• Virtual Option: A virtual option is available if you're unable to join us in person.

💡 Why do we do it?

• Community Support: Proceeds benefit local utility assistance programs to help friends, family, and neighbors pay their utility bills.
• Raising Awareness: The event is hosted in the cold winter months to bring attention to those struggling to keep their lights on and heat their homes.
• Year-Round Need: Utility assistance is a year-round need, not limited to winter.
• Funding Distribution: Funds raised are administered by Dollar Energy Fund, Inc., split between M.U.D.’s Home Fund and OPPD’s Energy Assistance Program.

📋 What are the Details?

• Date & Time: The event takes place on March 7 in Aksarben Village. Timed events begin at 9 a.m., with the untimed 2-mile walk starting at 9:15 a.m.
• Finishing Time: Participants in the 10K and 5K should aim to finish by 10:30 a.m. (1.5-hour time limit).
• Vendors: Vendors will be on-site, and everyone is encouraged to visit Inner Rail and Aksarben Village businesses before and after the event.
• Awards: Awards will be given to the 1st place overall male and female in the 5K and 10K, with age group awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in various divisions.

🏅 Virtual Participants

For those signing up for the virtual option, we encourage you to complete your registered distance on March 7 in your neighborhood, on local trails, or from your home or gym treadmill! (No swag or awards given to virtual participants.)

🚼 Registration Information

• Non-Refundable: Registrations are non-refundable.
• Strollers: Strollers are welcome.
• Pets: Pets and service dogs are allowed, and owners must adhere to city leash ordinances.
