Save the date for our 19th annual event on Saturday, March 7, 2026.

🏃‍♂️ What is the Heat the Streets Run & Walk for Warmth?

• Event Types: Heat the Streets Run & Walk for Warmth offers participants the opportunity to register for a timed 5K run, timed 10K run or untimed two-mile walk.
• Virtual Option: We also offer a virtual option if you're unable to join us in person.

❤️ Why Do We Do It?

• Community Support: Since 2007, this event benefits local utility assistance programs to help friends, family, and neighbors pay their utility bills.
• Awareness: The event is hosted in the cold winter months to bring attention to those who struggle to keep the lights on and heat their homes.
• Utilization of Funds: Funds raised are administered by Dollar Energy Fund, Inc. and are split between M.U.D.’s Home Fund and OPPD’s Energy Assistance Program.
• Mission: Dollar Energy Fund's mission is to improve the quality of life for households experiencing hardships by providing utility assistance and other services that lead to self-sufficiency.

📋 What Are the Details?

• Date and Location: Participants will gather Saturday, March 7 in Aksarben Village to run, walk and raise awareness.
• Event Start Times: The timed events (5K and 10K) will begin at 9 a.m. and the untimed 2-mile walk will start at 9:15 a.m.
• Awards: Awards will be given to the 1st place overall male and female in the 5K and 10K, as well as age group awards.
• Virtual Participants: Complete your registered distance on March 7 in your neighborhood, on local trails or from your home or gym treadmill! (No swag or awards given to virtual participants.)
