🏃‍♂️ What is the Heat the Streets Run & Walk for Warmth?

• Opportunity: Participants have the opportunity to register for a timed 5K run, timed 10K run, or untimed two-mile walk.
• Virtual Option: We also offer a virtual option if you're unable to join us in person.

❤️ Why Do We Do It?

• Date Established: Since 2007, Metropolitan Utilities District and Omaha Public Power District have hosted this annual event.
• Proceeds Benefits: Proceeds benefit local utility assistance programs to help friends, family, and neighbors pay their utility bills.
• Winter Focus: The event is hosted in cold months to bring attention to those who struggle to keep the lights on and heat their homes.
• Year-Round Need: Utility assistance is a year-round need.

💸 Details of the Event

• Date and Location: Participants will gather on March 7 in Aksarben Village.
• Start Times: The timed events (5K and 10K) will begin at 9 a.m., and the untimed 2-mile walk will start at 9:15 a.m.
• Awards: Awards will be given to the 1st place overall male and female in the 5K and 10K.
• Virtual Participation: For those signing up for the virtual option, we encourage you to complete your registered distance on March 7.
