Join us Saturday, March 7, for the 19th annual Heat the Streets Run & Walk for Warmth!

📅 What is the Heat the Streets Run & Walk for Warmth?

• Event Types: Heat the Streets Run & Walk for Warmth offers participants the opportunity to register for a timed 5K run, timed 10K run, or untimed two-mile walk.
• Virtual Option: We also offer a virtual option if you're unable to join us in person.

❤️ Why Do We Do It?

• Community Support: Since 2007, Metropolitan Utilities District and Omaha Public Power District have teamed up to host this annual event, benefiting local utility assistance programs.
• Awareness: The event is hosted in the cold winter months to bring attention to those who struggle to keep the lights on and heat their homes.
• Year-Round Need: Utility assistance is a year-round need.
• Administered Funds: Funds raised are administered by Dollar Energy Fund, Inc. and split between M.U.D.’s Home Fund and OPPD’s Energy Assistance Program.

🏅 What Are the Details?

• Date and Location: Participants will gather Saturday, March 7, in Aksarben Village to run, walk, and raise awareness for those in need.
• Event Timings: The timed events (5K and 10K) will begin at 9 a.m., and the untimed 2-mile walk will start at 9:15 a.m.
• Awards: Awards will be given to the 1st place overall male and female in the 5K and 10K, with age group awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male and female runners.
• Participation: For those signing up for the virtual option, we encourage you to complete your registered distance on March 7.
