Laurel Park Turkey Day 5K/Fun Run

Join your friends and neighbors for the 18th Annual Laurel Park Turkey Day 5k/Fun Run! T his non-competitive charity event is open to everyone. Strollers and leashed dogs are welcome.

This year's main charity is the Junior Charity League of Concord , whose mission is to improve the lives of our neighbors through active volunteerism by providing basic needs, educational programs and social services.

We'll also make a financial contribution to:

• Opportunity House , whose mission is to serve the people of Cabarrus County by providing resources to meet the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of people experiencing homelessness, addiction, or recent incarceration.
• Pet Lifeline Alliance , a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the Cabarrus County Animal Shelter, its adopters, and the pets in their care.

Additionally, we'll be collecting non-perishable items for the Second Harvest Backpack Program at Weddington Hills Elementary School. This program provides a backpack full of nutritious, ready to eat or easy to prepare foods that is sent home on weekends and holidays when school meals are not available.
