3rd Annual Backpocket Beer Mile

🍻 Event Overview

• Event Name: 3rd Annual Backpocket Beer Mile
• Date: October 17, 2025
• Location: 6205 Merle Hay Rd, Johnston, IA
• Timing: Competitive race at 6:00 PM, Fun Wave at 6:20 PM

🏃‍♂️ Race Format

• Laps: Four laps around the Yard
• Beer Requirement: One beer per lap, totaling four beers
• Beer Zone: Must drink in designated area before continuing
• Eligibility: Participants must be of legal drinking age

💪 Health and Safety

• Alcohol Policy: Standard beers with a minimum of 5% ABV only
• Penalty: A penalty lap for participants who can't hold down their beer
• Massage Services: FREE chair massages and rock tape provided by HealthSource Chiropractic
• Responsibility: Ensure designated drivers or use public transportation

🏆 Prizes and Recognition

• Awards: Given to top overall male and female participants
• Costume Contest: Best costume prize up for grabs
• Age Categories: Prizes for top male and female in ages 21-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 50+
• Experience: Memories and sense of achievement are the true rewards

• Packet Pickup: Monday, October 13, at Fleet Feet from 3-6 PM
• Second Pickup: Friday, October 17, from 3:00-5:00 PM at Backpocket Pin & Pixel
• Participants: Relay teams of 2 can register in the Fun Wave
