NACC's RACE AROUND RED TOP

Come join us March 8th for our forth in-person canicross 5k race! New to canicross or have a pup in training? There will also be a 5k Dog Friendly Trail race following the competitive canicross run. Each runner will receive a logo race T-shirt and finisher challenge coin! Note: T-Shirt/Size is not guaranteed if you register after February 20th. Race Logo swag will be available for additional purchase.

Event Overview

• Location: Iron Hill Trail Head, Cartersville, GA
• Website: Race Sign-Up
• Participants: All dogs running in canicross are required to wear designated canicross gear.

Gear Requirements

• Canicross Class: Harnesses with “Y” chest bands, bungee lead 4' - 6’ ft attached to hands free waist belt.
• 2-Dog Canicross Class: Single split bungee line with neck line.
• Dog Friendly 5k: Less restrictive but no face leads, flexi leashes or no-pull harnesses allowed.
• Child Participation: Registered children under 15 must run with a registered adult.

Event Policies

• No Transfers: No transfers, refunds or deferments allowed.
• No Greet Policy: Dogs must be kept on a leash and under owner control at all times.
• Reactive Dogs: Please email support@nacanicross.com if you have a reactive dog.
• Camping: Camping is available at Red Top Mountain State Park. Reservations can be made here.

Race Day Schedule

• Packet Pickup: Starts on-site at 7:30 AM along with race day registration.
• Start Times:
  • 8:30 AM - Canicross 2-Dog 5k Start
  • 9:00 AM - Canicross 5k Start
  • 9:30 AM - Dog Friendly 5k
• Aid Station: There will be one water/aid station at mile 1.5.
• Photos: Photos will be available and taken by Unbridled Imagery.

Awards &: Prizes

• 2 Dog Canicross 5k: Awards for Male and Female categories.
• Canicross 5k: Special awards for Junior, Male, and Female participants.
• Dog Friendly 5k: Awards for Junior, Male, and Female placements.
• Masters &: Grand Masters: Awards for competitors over 50 and 65 years old.

Additional Information

• Parking Fees: $10.00 parking fee per vehicle in Georgia State Parks.
• Volunteers Needed: Help during race day is appreciated: volunteers will receive a registration discount.
• Event Area: Vendors and dog-related sponsors will be present.
• Weather Contingency: Alternative options will be available in the event of extreme weather.

Medical Response &: Safety

The Race Directors have established a comprehensive medical response plan. Participants will receive a briefing on race procedures and emergency protocols.
