Ford Elementary Jingle Jog 5K

WHAT

• Event: The 15th Annual Jingle Jog 5K walk-run is a fundraising event to benefit the Ford Elementary School Foundation.
• Foundation: The Ford Elementary School Foundation (FESF), established in 2005, is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing enhanced educational opportunities.
• Funding: These additional educational opportunities can only be funded through Foundation efforts, and not through the Cobb County Board of Education or our PTA.

EVENT DETAILS

• Date: The 5K will be on Saturday, December 5th.
• Location: It will begin and end in the Bus Port at Ford Elementary School (1345 Mars Hill Rd. Acworth, GA 30101).
• Start Times: The race will kick off with a Kids Reindeer Dash at 7:45am followed by the timed 5K beginning at 8:00 am.

COURSE

• Type: The course is an out and back loop with rolling hills.
• Directions: Exiting the Ford Elementary Bus Port, turn right on Mars Hill Rd., turn right on Fords Rd. with turnaround at County Line Road.

AWARDS

• Categorization: Awards will be given the for top 2 finishers of each age category for Male & Female.
• Top Winners: We will also award the top overall Male & Female winners of the race.
• Age Categories: Kindergarten-5th grade, Middle School, High School, Adult 18+.

T-SHIRTS

• Guarantee: T-shirts are guaranteed to all registrations received prior to November 20th.

PARKING

• Location: There will be parking at Ford Elementary School - in the school lots as well as along the car line lanes entering and exiting the school.

WEATHER

• Rain or Shine: The race will happen rain or shine. Be prepared to run in any weather.
• Extreme Weather: Only in the cases of extreme weather will changes to the race schedule occur.
• Updates: Please check your email on race morning for real-time updates on the status of the race if there is severe weather.

REGISTRATION

• Online Registration: Online registration closes at 11:59 pm on Thursday, December 4th.
• Race Day: Race morning registration will be available from 7:00 - 7:40 am in the Ford Cafeteria.

REFUNDS

• Policy: No refunds or transfers from person-to-person or year-to-year are allowed.
• Cancellation: Race Management reserves the right to cancel or modify the event due to extreme conditions such as weather.
• Refunds: Registration fees are not refundable in the event of the race cancellation due to “Acts of God" or things outside of the control of the Race Director.

PACKET PICK-UP

• Time: Packet pick-up will be held in the Cafeteria on race morning starting at 7am.
• Student Packets: Some student packets may be available to be sent home with students the Friday prior to the race - details will become available closer to race day for Ford families.

TIMING

• Results: Results will be recorded with a time clock.

WATER STATIONS

• Location: There will be one water station on the course at the turnaround site on County Line Rd.
• Encouragement: Runners are encouraged to bring water bottles with them.
• Post-Race: Additional water and post-race snacks will be available at the finish line.

FIRST AID

• Emergency: In case of an emergency, please immediately notify one of the on-site volunteers or a police officer.

RESTROOMS

• Access: Restrooms are available inside the school through the cafeteria entrance.
