10th Annual Run for Rowan 5K

The Run for Rowan 5K will take place rain or shine, and we’re currently expecting light rain throughout the event. In the event of severe weather, such as thunderstorms, we’ll notify participants by email and post updates on this event page regarding any potential cancellation. Please note: there is no rain date for this event.

5K registration is at capacity and has officially closed. Please note that day-of registration will NOT be available.

The Rowan University Alumni Association and Rowan Campus Recreation are thrilled to invite you to the milestone 10th Annual Run for Rowan 5K!

Join us on Saturday, April 26 at Rowan University’s Glassboro campus or participate virtually by running 3.1 miles from any location April 26–May 2. Don’t wait—registration closes on April 10!

This year’s event proudly benefits Flying First, Rowan University’s First-Generation Task Force initiative that supports academic success for first-generation students.

Runners will receive a limited-edition 10th Annual Run for Rowan 5K t-shirt and a commemorative full-color medal.

Whether you’re running through campus or charting your own course virtually, we’re excited to celebrate this special anniversary with you. Profs, let’s hit the ground running!

Frequently Asked Questions

What time does the race start?
The first wave of runners begins at 10:00 a.m., followed by the second wave at 10:05 a.m. New this year, all in-person runners must check in between 8:45 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. to receive their assigned start time.

Why are there two waves?
The two-wave system allows us to accommodate more participants on race day. This helps reduce crowding on the course and ensures a smoother race experience for everyone.

How and when will I be assigned my wave?
Wave assignments will be given during check-in at the Welcome Tent between 8:45 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Groups who want to run together are encouraged to check in at the same time to be assigned to the same wave.

    Wave assignment details:
    • Competitive runners will be assigned to the first wave.
    • Walkers and those running with strollers will be placed in the second wave.
    • Wave assignments are not based on pace.
    • All awards are determined by chip time. Your assigned wave will not affect your eligibility.

What is the cost of this year's run?
Pricing now includes the cost to ship your race packet. In-person and virtual option pricing is the same:
Early Bird Registration (ends February 15)
Ages 0-17: $20
Ages 18+: $35
Currently-Enrolled Rowan Student: $25
Registration (after February 15)
Ages 0-17: $25
Ages 18+: $40
Currently-Enrolled Rowan Student: $30

How do I get my race packet?
Race packets for the Run for Rowan 5K will now be shipped directly to participants, with shipping costs covered by your registration. Packet pickup at the office or on race day will no longer be available. This change has been made to support the event's growth and ensure a smoother, more efficient process for everyone.
