GEM 5K: Pam Olson 2025

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

Student Council would like to announce Pam Olson as our 2025 beneficiary for the Gary Engels Memorial (GEM) 5K. Gary Engels was an English teacher at Campus High School who left a legacy at Campus and in the Haysville Community. In his honor, a new beneficiary is chosen each year.

🎓 About Pam Olson

• Role: Math teacher at Campus High School (CHS).
• Health Challenges: Battling a brain tumor, meningioma, and diabetic retinopathy.
• Treatments: Participated in the Cyberknife program and radiation treatments: ongoing injections, laser treatments, and surgeries for retinopathy.
• Impact: Beloved by students: known for making math fun: has taught for over 30 years.

📅 Race Details

• Date: April 26th, 2025.
• Check-In: Starts at 9am.
• Race Start: Begins at 9:30am.
• Registration: Includes a t-shirt: not guaranteed for sign-ups after April 11th.

📍 Location

The race will begin and end on the North side of Riggs Park at the Timberlane Shelter in Haysville, KS, and follow the bike/walking path.
