Strasburg Mayfest 5K – Benefiting the Alyssa Bane Owens Memorial Scholarship
The Strasburg Mayfest Committee, in collaboration with the Town of Strasburg, is proud to host this year’s Mayfest 5K in honor of Alyssa Bane Owens, a Strasburg High School graduate and beloved special education teacher at her alma mater.
- Legacy: Alyssa dedicated her career to helping students feel confident, capable, and successful in all they did.
- Purpose: Proceeds from this year’s 5K will benefit the Alyssa Bane Owens Memorial Scholarship, which provides financial assistance to graduating Strasburg High School seniors with disabilities.
- Community Impact: By participating in or contributing to this event, you are helping us celebrate Alyssa’s impact on the Strasburg community.
- Educational Support: Ensuring her passion for education and her students' lives.

WHEN: Saturday, April 19 @ 9:00 AM
- Kids Fun Run: April 19 @ 10:00 AM. Free event for children aged 12 and under.
- Distance: One lap around the Strasburg High School track. No need to register for the Fun Run.

📝 Registration Information
Registration:
Pre-registration is online until 8:30 AM on race day.
Participants will receive a race shirt (while supplies and sizes last).
- Race Day Registration: Begins at 8 AM on Saturday, April 19, 2025.
- Shirt Guarantee: Registration deadline to guarantee a shirt is April 5, 2025. Ordering a shirt after that date is not possible.
- Shirt Availability: There will not be extra shirts available on race day.
- Discount: Shenandoah Valley Runners (SVR) Members receive a $1 discount.
💰 Cost
- 5K Pre-registered: $30.00
- Race Day: $35.00
🏆 Prizes
- Awards: Age group awards and door prizes from local businesses.
- Ceremony: The awards ceremony will immediately follow the completion of the 5K.
- Parade Invitation: Winners are invited to ride in the Mayfest Parade on Saturday, May 10, 2025.
