🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

The Race for the Golden Helix 5K (GH5K) is an annual 5 km (3.1 mile) open-road race around the beautiful campus of Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN. The GH5K is professionally timed.

🅿️ Parking Information

• Free Parking: All parking on the Tennessee Tech University campus is free and available to the public on the weekends.
• No Ticketing: You will not be ticketed unless you park in a spot that is specifically reserved.
• Best Location: The best parking for the race is behind the TN Tech STEM Center, along Stadium Drive, near the Laboratory Science Commons (LSC) and Stonecipher Auditorium.

🤝 Organizers and Sponsors

The race is organized by the Student Affiliates of the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) with the assistance of the Student Members of the American Chemical Society (SMACS) and the Chem-Med Club. The race is co-sponsored by the Tennessee Technological University Student Government Association SOLO Fund so that all students may race at no cost.

💸 Race Benefits and Registration

• Beneficiaries: Proceeds from the GH5K benefit the ASBMB and SMACS clubs, and the Upper Cumberland Remote Area Medical (RAM) Clinic at Cookeville High School.
• Free for Students: Hopefully, this year's race will be SOLO-funded for current TN Tech students to race for FREE using code (AWESOME).
• ID Requirement: Students MUST present valid student ID at packet pick-up to be able to race.
• T-Shirt Guarantee: Register by 9 p.m. Sun, Sept 21 for a guaranteed t-shirt on race day.
