🗽 What is a Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk?

• Description: The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers.
• Purpose: Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty!

• Event Significance: This will be our 1st Annual Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk in Huntington Beach and we are excited to grow the community’s commitment to honor first responders, remember 9/11, and raise funds for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

🏃‍♂️ How far is a Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk?

• Distance: This is a 5K (3.1 miles).
• Participation: Anyone can run, walk, or experience this event.

🎟️ Where can I pick up my packet?

• Event Day Pickup: Packet pick up will be available on the morning of the event beginning at 7 AM.
• Pre-event Pickup: A location for packet pick up the day before is TBD.
• Check Back: Please check back for information on pre-event day packet pick up as the event date approaches!

🙋‍♂️ Can someone else pick up my packet for me?

• Yes: They must present a copy of your registration receipt.
• Gratitude: And don't forget to thank them!

📝 Can I register the day of the run?

• Yes: Registration will open at 7 AM the morning of the run at Main Beach.
• Advantage: You’ll save time and money if you register in advance.
• Shirts: If you wait to register we may not have a shirt for you, and we do not guarantee sizes for late registrants.

👕 Are there event T-shirts?

• Eligibility: Yes, everyone who registers is eligible to receive a race day T-shirt.
• Registration Deadline: Please register by 8/31/2026 to guarantee that you receive a shirt.

🚗 Is there parking available?

• Availability: Yes, there is plenty of parking available.
• Free Parking: Free parking is located along the streets across from the beach parking lot.
• On-site Fee: Parking on-site at Main Beach is subject to a fee collected by the city of Huntington Beach.

📋 Do I have to wear my bib number?

• Display: Yes, please display your bib on the front of your outermost garment.
• Importance: The bib number is how we record the time.
• Policy: Those who run without a bib will be asked to leave the course and will not be allowed to finish.

🏅 Will there be awards for running?

• Awards: Award medals will be given to the top three men/women, boys/girls under 18, and the top 3 first responders running in their turnout gear.

💧 Will water be available?

• Location: Yes, water will be available at the Start Line and Finish Line.

🚑 Is there a medical staff available on-site?

• Plans: We are currently making plans to have an EMS team on site.

🛒 What can you bring to the event?

• Permitted Items: Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted.
• Starting Position: We ask that those with strollers start towards the back.
• Prohibited Items: Leave all personal items and valuables in your vehicle.
• Disclaimer: Tunnel to Towers Foundation will not be responsible for the loss of any items.

🤝 How can I volunteer?

• Registration: It's simple, either register online or email us at huntingtonbeachrun@t2t.org.
• Response Time: We will reply within 24 hours.
• Need: Volunteers are always needed for the day of festivities. Thank you!

💰 As a participant, can I fundraise/encourage others to donate?

• Fundraising Page: Yes! Once you are registered, you will be given directions to start your own fundraising page and you will be able to accept donations online.
• Cash Donations: We can help you with that. Contact us at huntingtonbeachrun@t2t.org.
• Mail Donations: Tunnel to Towers Foundation, ATTN: Thomas Mazza, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306.
• Information Request: Please give us your information so we can add it to your fundraising page. It’s easy!

📊 Does my registration fee count towards my fundraising goal?

• No: Your registration fee does not count toward the fundraising goal.

• Yes: We offer fundraising incentives each year: check out our latest in our Fundraising Guide, which is on the main event page, about halfway down.

💖 Can I still donate to a team and/or individual after the start of the race?

• Yes: Donations will be accepted for 6 weeks after the event.
