Join us for the 13th annual Chicagoland SCADaddle to raise money for much-needed SCAD research. Participants are invited to participate in the 5K walk/run at their own pace on the trails through the Danada Forest Preserve.

Our Cause

• Condition: Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) is a little known and poorly understood type of heart attack.
• Demographic: SCAD is the #1 cause of heart attacks in women under age 50, including pregnant women and new moms.
• Patient Profile: Most patients are younger healthy women who do not have the typical risk factors of heart disease.
• Research Needs: Although less common, it can affect men too. Research is needed to identify the cause(s) and the best treatment options.

SCADaddle Event Details

• Location: Our 5K chip timed run/walk takes place at Danada Forest Preserve in Wheaton, IL.
• Course: The USATF certified 5K course runs through and around the park on a varied terrain of crushed cinder, concrete, sidewalk and grass.
• Schedule: Opening Ceremony at 8:30 am. The run starts at 9:00 am and all participants will be timed.
• Post-Race: Following the race, join us for refreshments, vendors, our SCAD store & fun for all.

Awards

• Main Awards: Awards will be given to overall winner male and female.
• Recognition: Medals/recognition will be given to 2nd and 3rd place male/female overall.
• Age Groups: Medals will also be awarded to the top three males/females for age groups: 11 and under, 12-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and up.
