Run Your Mutt 5K Run & 1 Mile Walk/Run

Event Overview

• Organization: Monroe County Friends of Animals (MCFA) is sponsoring their third annual 5K and 1-mile walk/run.
• Mission: MCFA is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to providing for and continuously improving the health, happiness, and fortune of homeless and abandoned dogs and cats in Monroe County.
• Event Type: Join us for this family friendly event that brings together animal lovers, runners, walkers, and community members to support this very worthy cause.
• Course: Take your choice of a 5K run or a one mile walk/run with your dog on a paved path around the lake at Kefauver Park in Madisonville.

Participation Details

• Dog Policy: Dogs are encouraged, but not required to participate!
• Event Timing: Event timing will be provided by East Coast Adventures.
• Medals: Medals will be awarded to all participants with special recognition for the top 3 male and female finishers.
• Participant Rewards: All participants will receive an event T-shirt and a SWAG bag.

Special Recognition

• Alumni Bandana: If you adopted your dog from Monroe County Animal Shelter you will receive a special Alumni Bandana for your dog.
• Packet Pick-up: Packet pick-up begins at 7:30 am.
• Race Start Times: 5K race start time is 9:00 am: 1-mile walk/run starts at 9:30 am.
• Course Notes: Please note that Kefauver Park is not closed to other guests on our event date. We may encounter other runners or walkers on race day.

Registration Information

• Shirt Availability: Registrations received after 8/24/2026 MAY not receive an event shirt: we plan to order extras, but we're up against a lead time deadline for the shirts.
