Run Your Mutt 5K Run & 1 Mile Walk/Run

Event Overview

Monroe County Friends of Animals (MCFA) is sponsoring their third annual 5K and 1-mile walk/run. MCFA is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to providing for and continuously improving the health, happiness, and fortune of homeless and abandoned dogs and cats in Monroe County. Join us for this family friendly event that brings together animal lovers, runners, walkers, and community members to support this very worthy cause.

Race Details

• Date: 2026-09-12
• Location: Kefauver Park, Madisonville, TN
• Race Options: 5K run or a one mile walk/run
• Path: Paved path around the lake

Dog Participation

Dogs are encouraged, but not required to participate! Event timing will be provided by East Coast Adventures.

Awards and Perks

• Medals: Awarded to all participants
• Special Recognition: Top 3 male and female finishers
• Event T-shirt: All participants will receive one
• SWAG Bag: Every participant receives a bag

Special Recognition for Alumni

If you adopted your dog from Monroe County Animal Shelter you will receive a special Alumni Bandana for your dog.

Schedule

• Packet Pick-up: Begins at 7:30 am
• 5K Start Time: 9:00 am
• 1-mile Walk/Run Start Time: 9:30 am

Important Note

Please note that Kefauver Park is not closed to other guests on our event date. We may encounter other runners or walkers on race day.

Registration Deadline

Registrations received after 8/24/2026 MAY not receive an event shirt: we plan to order extras, but we're up against a lead time deadline for the shirts.
