The Florence Scott Libbey 419 Day Race celebrates Toledo history and the woman who helped make the Glass City great!

The Florence Scott Libbey 419 Race celebrates Toledo history and the icons who helped make T-Town great!
Florence Scott was the daughter, and heiress, of the wealthy Maurice and Mary Jane (Tallant) Scott, and the granddaughter of Jesup Scott, founder of the University of Toledo. Florence married Edward Libbey in 1890. The couple founded the Toledo Museum of Art and contributed significantly to Toledo's cultural landscape.
Following Edward Libbey's death in 1925, Mrs. Libbey remained an active contributor to Toledo culture, funding notable projects during the Great Depression.
