This 54-year-old tradition of Webster, NY was started by Jim May, former English Teacher, in Webster. Jim May started this event as a practice run for his Cross Country Team, as a way for them to get a workout on Thanksgiving Day. As the years progressed, the event grew to what it is today. Jim May’s former Cross Country Runner and multi-year winner of Trot, Dave Boutillier, took over the reins of the race in the late 90's under his Race Directing Company, YellowJacket Racing. Each year this race reminds Dave and many other former Webster residents of their youth and running the event annually.

🚫 Important Participation Guidelines

• Strollers, Dogs, & Headphones: NOT permitted on course!
• Race Bib: You must have a bib to participate.
• Banditing: It is bad form and considered banditting if you do not have a bib. Please just don't do it.
• Risk: It puts the entire event, its insurances, permits and other athletes at risk.

🏅 Your In-Person Race Registration Includes

• Electronic RFID timing: Ensuring accurate timing for all participants.
• Custom Gear: Your choice of a custom tote bag, hoodie (If registered before August 1st), crewneck sweatshirt (If registered before October 1st), or short sleeve t-shirt (If registered before November 1st).
• Post-race Food: Available for all participants.
• Shuttle Bus Service: Complimentary Shuttle Bus Service provided.
• Live Results: Text and Email results as you finish (you must sign up for results notifications to track a runner).
• Finisher Medal: Awarded to all finishers.
• Digital Finisher Certificate: Provided to all participants.

🏃‍♂️ Your Virtual Race Registration Includes

• Custom Gear: Your choice of hoodie (If registered before August 1st), crewneck sweatshirt (If registered before October 1st), or short sleeve t-shirt (If registered before November 1st).
• Finisher Medal: Awarded to all participants.
• Shipping: Shipping of items to your provided address. Register by 11:59pm, Sunday, November 9th to get your packet BEFORE Thanksgiving! Otherwise it will be mailed the week of December 1st.
• Online Results: Receive online race results.
• Digital Materials: Digital Finisher Certificate and Digital Race Bib included.

Virtual Event:
Please complete your 2.5 or 4.4 miles and submit your results between 7am November 27 and 11:59pm November 30th.

Note: There is no day-of registration. Please plan accordingly.

By registering for this event you are acknowledging that the date, time, location, and distance of the race may be changed, switched to virtual, or canceled at any time as deemed necessary by the Race Directors due to circumstances beyond their control. In the event that any of these scenarios happens, there will be no refunds, transfers, or deferrals allowed unless otherwise stated.
