Event Overview

The 2026 Unified 5k and AdaptXpo is an inclusive road race and adaptive sports expo that fosters community, connection, and competition. The event emphasizes building inclusive communities, creating opportunities, and making fitness and physical activity accessible for people with intellectual and physical disabilities.

• Date: Sunday, June 14th, 2026
• Location: Lake Phalen, Saint Paul, MN
• Annual Event: 2nd annual Unified 5k
• Race Options: Participants have the opportunity to run, walk, roll, or row either the 5k (3.1 mile) or 1 Mile course

Arrive early or hang around after the event to check out our vendors and clinics at the AdaptXpo, a celebration of organizations that focus on health, inclusion, accessibility, assistive technology, and adaptive sports.

Our Organization

• AdaptX Mission: Addresses barriers to better health and fitness for people with intellectual and physical disabilities through education, research, advocacy, and scholarship.
• Provider Role: Leading provider in adaptive fitness education.
• Research Initiative: Operate The Rick Hoyt Research Lab, conducting impactful studies that improve fitness and reduce secondary health conditions for individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities.

Support and Accessibility

These events support AdaptX initiatives, specifically our Scholarship and Ambassador Fund, which addresses socioeconomic barriers to participation so that we can make fitness and physical activity accessible for every body.
