Lake Travis Winter Marathon: 24HR Dual Course Challenge

🌟 Welcome to the Lake Travis Winter Marathon

Join us for a truly unique running experience as we close out January with the Trails by Moonlight on Lake Travis. Starting at 9:00 AM on Saturday, January 31, 2026, runners will have a 24-hour window to face the challenge of completing a marathon or half-marathon - either during daylight hours on our day course or under the night sky on our night course. The event continues until 9:00 AM Sunday morning, giving you the opportunity to test your limits while experiencing the trails in a whole new light.

• Check-In: Event hub opens at 7:30 AM | Mandatory check-in: 8:00-8:45 AM | Pre-race briefing: 8:45 AM
• Race Start: 9:00 AM | Marathon & Half Marathon start together

🏞️ Course & Format

• Lake Travis by Day & Moonlight: Challenge yourself in this unique winter endurance event along the stunning shores of Lake Travis! You can start your marathon (26.2 miles) or half-marathon (13.1 miles) at ANY time during the 24-hour window.
• Scenic Loops: Run a beautiful daytime 4.17-mile loop course with lake views and gentle rolling hills and a different nighttime course.
• Flexible Timing: Take breaks between loops if needed, and experience Lake Travis in daylight, sunset, and starlight.
• Self-Sufficiency Challenge: Runners are responsible for their own nutrition and hydration between loops, emphasizing determination and self-reliance.

🔦 Required Gear

• Primary Headlamp/Light: 300+ lumens recommended
• Backup Light Source: Secondary light in case primary fails
• Extra Batteries: Sufficient for the entire duration
• Water Bottle/Hydration: Capacity to carry water between loops

⚠️ Important Information

• Awards & Recognition: Challenge recognition coin or medal for finishers, along with a unique night trail running medal for those who finish at night.
• Weather Policy: The event runs rain or shine, though the race director reserves the right to modify or cancel the event in case of severe weather.
• Parking & Camping: Free parking is provided in the main Arkansas Bend Park lot. Camping is available on a first come, first served basis.
• Refund Policy: No refunds, transfers, or deferrals are available for this event.
