• Options: 25K & 50K (two loops)

EVENT DETAILS

• DATE: Saturday, January 17th, 2026
• WHEN: 50K starts at 8 a.m., 25K starts at 9 a.m. End time is 5 p.m.
• CUT-OFF: AS3 at 4 p.m., which gives participants an hour to travel 4 miles to the finish.
• WHERE: Fair Hill Natural Resource Management Area

START/FINISH LOCATION

• VENUE: Edward L. Walls Activity Hall.
• ADDRESS: The hall is at the intersection of Ranger Skinner Drive & Kennel Road, Elkton, MD 21921.
• LOCATION TIP: Use 4640 Telegraph Road for navigation apps.

REGISTRATION FEE

• ONLINE FEE: $40 + processing fee
• FIELD: Maximum 600 runners, no exceptions.

AMENITIES

• FINISHER ITEMS: All finishers will receive a medal and swag item (buff, beanie, pint glass).
• COMFORT: The activity hall (start/finish) is heated, with full kitchen and restrooms.
• CAPACITY: The hall has a capacity of 400, providing room to leave your gear or change clothes.
• ALCOHOL: BYOB is permitted at the activity hall.

AID STATIONS

• MAJOR STATIONS: Aid stations at mile 4.3, 7.5, and 11.5 over the 15.6 mile course.
• STOCKED ITEMS: Gels, electrolyte drinks, water, soda, beer, candy, cookies, chips, bananas, oranges, broth, bacon, grilled cheese sandwiches, and Uncrustables.
• COMFORT: Each aid station will have a wood or propane fire pit.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

• DIFFICULTY: Fair Hill is fairly tame compared to other parks in the mid-Atlantic region.
• FEATURES: Gentle rolling hills with moderately steep climbs, not exceeding 150 feet.
• COURSE DETAILS: The 15.6 mile course will start/finish on about 0.5 mile of asphalt/gravel road (1.0 miles total).
• TRAIL TYPE: The remainder is beautiful, single-track trails.

WEATHER EXPECTATIONS

• WINTER CONDITIONS: Expect variable weather: it can be cold!
• HISTORICAL DATA: In 2014, temperatures ranged from a bone-chilling 6 degrees to 30 degrees.
• SNOW ALERT: There may be fresh snow to contend with.
• AVERAGE TEMPERATURE: Average low is 24°F, average high is 42°F.

• REFUNDS: Sorry, there are no refunds, bib transfers, or deferments.
• ENTRY FEE: If you cannot make the event, the Race Director considers your entry fee a donation.
