• Race Format: "Last runner standing" with a 4.17 mile yard starting every hour, on the hour.

🌳 Race Venue

• Facilities: Large grass area for personal aid setup around the dining hall and reserved campsites.
• Trail Conditions: Network of wide, well-maintained trails, primarily crushed gravel, with minimal elevation change.
• Campsites: Full hookup RV sites available.
• Personal Crew Areas: Runners can set up personal crew spots in the dining hall area.

🏅 Participant Benefits

• Merchandise: Each participant receives a Big Tex hoodie and a customized poster with their completed yards stamped.
• Incentives: Fully stocked aid station support provided.
• Awards: Runners completing 24 yards will receive a 100mi buckle.
• Monetary Prizes: The winner earns a dollar for every mile run: the second place earns a dollar for every yard completed.

📜 Backyard Format Rules

• Course Layout: 100 miles divided into 24 hours, with a new yard starting every hour.
• Personal Area: Runners and crew can set up personal areas around the course for aid and rest.
• Start Corral: Runners must be in the starting corral before the top of the hour.
• Disqualification Policy: Failure to line up will lead to disqualification: runners must start the next yard on time.

🚫 Course Regulations

• No Aid: Runners cannot receive aid from crew while on the course.
• No Non-Competitors: Only competitors are allowed on the course.
• Bathroom Breaks: Competitors may leave the course only for restrooms, but must stay on course otherwise.
• Completion Criteria: Must complete one more yard than everyone else to win: no pacers allowed.

🏆 Silver Ticket Update

• 2025 Silver Ticket: TROT has applied for a Silver Ticket for the 2025 races.
• Bronze Ticket Outcome: Bronze ticket winners earn a spot in a silver ticket race.
• National Championships: Silver ticket winners qualify for national team placement in October 2026.
• World Championships: Top winners from the national championships earn a place in the 2027 Backyard World Championships.
