Virginia Running Clinic

🏃‍♂️ Welcome!

The Virginia Running Clinic, presented by PWC Running Club, will focus on training and is recommended for motivated runners. All ages and abilities are welcome: the only requirement is the desire to improve. Participants will be instructed by coaches, health professionals, and top athletes on topics including motivation, nutrition, biomechanics (running form), weights and circuit training, goal setting, injury prevention, and sports psychology.

📅 Clinic Schedule

• Dates: May 25th (Sun), May 27th (Tuesday), May 29th (Thursday), and June 1st (Sun).
• Duration: 90 minutes for each session.
• Time: 5:45-7:15pm on Tuesday and Thursday: 2-3:30pm on Sunday.
• Format: Participants will be divided by age and experience.

👥 Coaching Team

• Clinic Director: James DeMarco - Coach DeMarco has been named the Virginia Coach of the Year several times and has sent over 60 distance athletes to compete in college.
• Head Coach: Paul Spangler - Coach Spangler has coached youth athletes to Olympians and has vast experience at various prestigious institutions.
• Doctor: Mina DeMarco - A Sports Medicine and Family Physician with UVA Health, Dr. DeMarco will discuss nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices.
• Assistant Coaches: They will direct youth participants in drills, workouts, proper running form, and fun games.

📍 Location

Patriot High School, Bermuda field, by the tennis courts. Enter Patriot at their main entrance, drive straight, and continue all the way behind the school. Follow the XC Runs signs.

🎒 What to Bring

• Shoes: Have good shoes for running.
• Water: Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.
• Watch: A watch that records splits is helpful for adults.

🌟 Transform Your Running

This clinic will be life-changing for your running. Age five to senior citizens are welcomed and will be involved in very different camp experiences that are age and fitness appropriate.
