Herndon Turkey Trot 5K

Event Overview

Herndon Parks and Recreation is hosting the annual Turkey Trot 5K at the Herndon Community Center. The race will begin at 4:00pm on November 21. Online registration is available at herndon-va.gov and active.com and ends at 12:00pm on Friday, November 20.

Packet Pick-Up and Registration

• Dates: Registration will run from 5:00-7:00pm on Friday, November 20 and from 1:30-3:30pm on Saturday, November 21.
• Costs: $45 for adults 21 & up, $30 for youth 20 & under.
• Food Donation: Participants are encouraged to bring a can of food for donation.
• Shirt Availability: Long sleeve race T-shirts guaranteed to the first 450 pre-registered runners: must be picked up on race day.

Prizes

• Winners: Prizes for 1st and 2nd place winners in age groups: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 & over.
• Overall Winners: Top prize including a turkey will be given to the overall male and female winners.
• Beer Tokens: Registered runners 21+ will receive a token beer post-race courtesy of Aslin Beer Company.
• Food Donation: All food collected will be donated to LINK.

Registration Information

• Pre-registration for Adults: $40 and a can of food donation.
• Pre-registration for Youth: $25 and a can of food donation.
• Race Day Registration for Adults: $45 and a can of food donation.
• Race Day Registration for Youth: $30 and a can of food donation.

Race Policies

• Prohibited Items: Strollers, bikes, and dogs are not permitted in the race.
• Time Limit: All runners must finish the 5K in 45 minutes.
• Course Warning: The course is a mixture of trail and street running: appropriate footwear is recommended.
• Parking: Please arrive early as the parking lot at the Herndon Community Center fills up quickly.
