🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

• Organizer: The Scouting America (formally known as Boy Scouts of America)- Great Falls Council provides a well-rounded program that promotes physical, mental, and emotional development while fostering a lifelong love of learning and adventure. We currently serve 5,373 youth council wide.
• District: We are made up of six districts within the council. Winding Rivers District covers Bradford County where this race is being held.
• Scouts Served: In the Winding Rivers District, we serve 470 Scouts and recruit year-round.

👟 Participation Details

• All Ages: The Adventure Awaits 5k is open to all ages. You do not have to be a runner to participate.
• Inclusive Event: This provides a great opportunity for Scouts, avid runners, and families to get outdoors and support the Scouting program in the community.
• Scenery: Whether you walk or run, you will enjoy the scenery and atmosphere!
• Timing: The race is chip-timed by Falcon Race Timing.

🌳 Event Logistics

• Location: This race is held in the beautiful Round Top Park overlooking the Valley below in Athens Township, Pennsylvania.
• Facilities: Restrooms are available, and there will be at least one water stop along the race from local Scouts.
• Packet Pickup: Prerace packet pick up will be held at the Athens Township office parking lot on Friday, August 29th from 5:30 to 7:00 pm.
• Race Day: Packet pickup day of will take place from 7:00 am to 7:45 am, and the 5k run/walk begins at 8:30 am. Early registration through RunSignup is encouraged for a fee of $25. Registration at packet pickup is $30. Cash or checks only accepted on 8/29 or 8/30.

🏆 Awards and Recognition

• Awards Ceremony: An awards ceremony will be shortly after the race.
• Age Group Awards: Top men's and women's categories for the following age groups: 8-12, 12-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
• Overall Winners: The overall top Man and Woman will also receive a special prize.

👶 Kids Fun Run

• Age Range: Kids fun run is for ages 2-10.
• Prizes: Every kid will receive a prize who participates.
• Start Time: Kids fun run will be at 8:15 am and kids will run about 400 meters.
