Elves for the Shelves 5K, Walk, and Fun Run

🎄 Event Overview

Run or Walk to support Radnor Memorial Library at the annual Elves for the Shelves 5K, Walk, & Fun Run.

Kick off the holiday season with us! As part of the traditional Christmas in Wayne activities, the Elves race is a fantastic way to gather family, friends, and colleagues for a fun, festive morning. Funds raised through this event support the Library's mission to provide programs, collections, space, and other resources that enhance the quality of life for the entire community.

🏃 5K Timed Race

• Start & Finish: In front of Radnor Memorial Library.
• Timing: Professionally timed by Bryn Mawr Racing Company.
• Prizes: Awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each age group.
• Age Groups: 6 & under, 7-9, 10-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39...60-69, 70+.

🚶 Walk (2.3 miles)

• Route: Start and finish in front of Radnor Memorial Library.
• Accessibility: Stroller and wheelchair accessible.
• Path: Proceeds along West Wayne Ave, crosses Conestoga Rd, and moves through the Wayne neighborhood.
• Location: Route returns back to the Library.

🏅 Fun Run/Walk (.5 mile)

• Age Range: Open for all ages.
• Accessibility: Stroller & wheelchair accessible.
• Finish Medal: All children 12 years old and under will receive a finish medal.
• Special Guest: Santa will be in attendance!

🌐 Virtual Run/Walk

Don't live near Radnor? You can participate from afar and run or walk wherever you are! Sign up as a Virtual Runner/Walker and log your distance and time on race day.

🎭 Festive Costumes

Prizes will be awarded for creative costuming - for adults and children!

👕 T-Shirts

Register by Nov. 10 to be guaranteed a t-shirt.

👪 Organize a Family or Company Team

It's better when you do it together! Organize a family, workplace, or community team. Set a team fundraising goal to support the library.

💰 Donations

Participants can also set individual fundraising goals! Those who raise or donate $100+, $300+, or $500+ will receive incentive prizes and be listed on our Thank You Banner at the event.

📦 Packet Pick Up

Friday, December 5, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM in the Library's Windsor Room (on the lower level). OR pick everything up on race morning between 7:00 - 7:30 AM.

🅿️ Race Day Parking

Free parking in Wayne on race day! Park on the street or in municipal lots (including the lots behind Library on S. Wayne Ave. and downtown on S. Wayne Ave.) for free. NO PARKING on W. Wayne Ave, the road will be closed for the race festivities.
