Festivus For The Rest Of Us 5k 5th Annual 12/14/25

🎉 Race Overview

Come celebrate FESTIVUS with the rest of us while completing an awesome 5k course.

We are back for the 5th year. We had an outstanding turnout last year. Tons of fun was had by all. We look forward to making the experience even better this year.

All proceeds go directly to the New Florence Volunteer Fire Company.

📅 Race Details

Festivus 5k packet pickup will be at the New Florence Fire Hall morning of the race starting at 9am (possibly a little earlier). Registration will close at 9:50 am to allow Smiley Miles Timing to put names into the system without delaying the start of the race for those who sign up day of.

💵 Pricing

Pricing is $20 until November 23rd at 6pm, then it becomes $25 till registration closes, and $30 day of race. There is day registration starting at 9am (possibly a little earlier) and ending at 9:50am. Cash or Check only day of. Credit cards will not be accepted day of.

New for this year, children 10 and under will be free till registration closes then children will be $10 day of. Please see the rules for more information. Though children's registrations are free, they must still purchase a t-shirt to get one.

Top 3 M & F overall, top 3 in each age group for the run: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.

Top 3 M & F for Walk. This Year we are also doing age groups to line up with the run category: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.

🕒 Schedule of Events

• 9:00 am: Registration opens (possibly a little earlier).
• 9:50 am: Registration closes.
• 10:00 am: Race starts.
• 11:10 am: Awards ceremony.

Time limit is 1 hour 05 minutes (20:55 minute pace per mile).

🏨 Accommodations

We want to make sure participants who may need some accommodations are certainly welcome. Please reach out ahead of time so we can take care of those needs.

🛍️ What's Included

Custom race bib, custom race sticker, chip timing with results posted online. Snacks after the race as well, a safe environment, and a chance to make lasting memories. Multiple photo op areas will be set up to take pictures before and after the event.

🗺️ Race Route

Race starts right in front of the former New Florence ambulance garage which is right beside the fire hall. We will run up a block make a left heading towards the New Florence Manor. Then quickly jumping on route 711 for about a tenth of a mile before hitting Boswell Road. From there you run out towards the state gamelands running by the Laurel Hill Iron Furnace before turning around.

The course is exactly 3.10 miles. There is one water stop on the course located right past the furnace just before the turn around at the 1.45 mile mark.

📏 Rules

We are testing out the free child registration option for those 10 and under. We require at least one adult to be present at the event to watch the child. The adult does not have to run beside the child during the event, but we ask that you use your best judgement.

🚶‍♂️ Walk Division

We will be awarding the top 3 overall male and female who are in the walk division. Plus age groups to line up with the run category. You must also finish within the 1:05 time frame.

🅿️ Parking

Parking will be at the New Florence Fire Hall, additional parking will be available at the New Florence Playground which is 50 yards away. Please DO NOT PARK in any business parking lots, or block anyone’s driveway.

👕 Shirt Policy

This year's shirt is a really cool design. The shirt deadline is firm on November 23rd at 6pm. After that deadline we cannot order you a t-shirt.

📈 Results

Results will be posted online after the race at www.smileymiles.com. Please be patient, it may take 24 hours for results to be fully posted.

🔄 Refund/Cancellation

We do not offer refunds, cancellations, or transfers at this time. This event will go on no matter the weather unless a state of emergency is declared.

⏱️ Timing

Gun Timing with a mass start and chip time finish. Your bibs will have a chip on the back for accurate timing once you cross the finish line.

🍔 Food/Liquids

We will provide water at the water stop. There will also be post-race snacks available.

ℹ️ Misc Info

Bathrooms are located inside the fire hall. There will be a photo OP area inside the fire hall for you to take all the pictures you want.
