What is a Tunnel To Towers Run & Walk?

• Purpose: The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001, after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers.
• Honor: Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty!

• Community Event: This will be the first year in Santa Rosa and we are excited to once again bring together the community to honor first responders, remember 9/11, and raise funds for the Tunnel to Towers programs.

How far is a Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk?

• Distance: This is a 5K (3.1 miles) walk or run event.
• Participation: Anyone can run, walk, or experience this event.

Can I register on the day of the run?

• Opening Time: Yes. Registration will open at 7 am the morning of the run.
• Late Fee: There will be a $5 late registration fee for those who choose to register on the morning of the race for all registrants except for First Responders.
• Shirt Availability: If you wait to register, we may not have a shirt for you and we cannot guarantee sizes for late registrants.

When does online registration close?

• Online Registration: Online registration will remain open until the start of the event.
• Packet Pick-Up: If you register after packet pick-up, you may not receive your t-shirt and any other race day swag.

Does my registration come with a T-shirt?

• Guarantee: If you register before October 20th you are guaranteed a shirt.
• Availability: People who register after this date are not guaranteed a shirt and will get one as supplies last.

Can I transfer my registration to another participant?

• Transfer: Yes. See the information above OR contact us at santarosarun@t2t.org and we will manually change it in our system.

Can I get a refund?

• Refund Policy: We do not provide refunds for the event regardless if you cannot make the date or the foundation needs to cancel the event for extenuating circumstances.
• Transfer Option: Registration may be transferred to another person.

Do I have to wear my bib number?

• Bib Display: Yes, please display your bib on the front of your outermost garment.
• Course Policy: Those who run without a bib will be asked to leave the course and will not be allowed to finish.

I am a fast runner. Can I get a front-line position?

• Seeded Runners: Runners predicting a pace faster than 6 minute/mile will be seeded in the front corral (arrive early!).

Will there be awards for running?

• Awards: Yes, awards will be given out to the top 3 runners in each category: male/female Overall, male/female first responders in gear, top 3 boy/girl teen, top 3 boy/girl child.

What can you bring to the event?

• Permitted Items: Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted. Firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are also permitted.
• Personal Items: Please leave all personal items and valuables in your vehicle.
• Responsibility: All items should be stored securely at the owner's risk. Tunnel to Towers Foundation will not be responsible for the loss of any items.

Will water be available?

• Water Stations: Yes, a water station will be available along the route and there will be water available at the start/finish line.

Is there a medical staff available on-site?

• Medical Staff: Yes, there will be an Emergency Medical Service team available on site.
• Communication: There is also radio communication available on the course to help communicate with the EMS.

Where can I pick up my packet?

• Race Day Pickup: Packet pickup will be available on race day starting at 7:15 am.
• Early Pickup: We will also hold early packet pickup at Santa Rosa Plaza (1071 Santa Rosa Plaza, Santa Rosa, 95401) in center court near the Charlie Brown statue and Sephora, from 3:30 to 8:00 pm on Thursday November 6th.

Can someone else pick up my packet for me?

• Proxy Pickup: Yes, they can. They must present a copy of your registration receipt.
• Appreciation: And don't forget to thank them!

How can my company/organization sponsor this event?

As a participant, can I fundraise/encourage others to donate?

• Fundraising: Yes! Once you are registered, you will be given directions to start your own fundraising page and you will be able to accept donations online.
• Donation Assistance: Do you want to donate cash/money? We can help you with that. Contact us at santarosarun@t2t.org and we can walk you through the process.

Does Tunnel to Towers offer fundraising incentives?

• Incentives: Yes, we offer fundraising incentives each year: check out our latest in our Fundraising Guide.
• Deadline: To qualify, complete your fundraising by June 30, 2025, for winter and spring events, or December 10, 2025, for Summer and Fall events.

Does my registration fee count towards my fundraising goal?

• Fee Policy: Your registration fee does not count toward the fundraising goal.
