About this race
What is a Tunnel To Towers Run & Walk?
- Purpose: The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001.
- Support: Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty.
- Foundation: For more information on the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation please visit www.T2T.org.
- Community: This will be the first year in Santa Rosa and we are excited to once again bring together the community to honor first responders, remember 9/11, and raise funds for the Tunnel to Towers programs.
How far is a Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk?
- Distance: This is a 5K (3.1 miles) walk or run event.
- Accessibility: Anyone can run, walk, or experience this event.
- Family Friendly: The event is designed to welcome participants of all ages.
- Encouragement: Join us to support an important cause while participating in a fun community event.
Can I register on the day of the run?
- Registration: Yes. Registration will open at 7 am the morning of the run.
- Late Fee: There will be a $5 late registration fee for those who choose to register on the morning of the race for all registrants except for First Responders.
- Shirt Availability: If you wait to register, we may not have a shirt for you and we can not guarantee sizes for late registrants.
- Preparation: Please arrive early to ensure a smooth registration process.
When does online registration close?
- Closing Date: Online registration will remain open until the start of the event.
- Packet Pick-up: If you register after packet pick-up, you may not receive your t-shirt and any other race day swag.
- Convenience: Register online to ensure all participation materials are ready for you.
- Last Minute Registration: It's recommended to register as early as possible to avoid complications.
Does my registration come with a T-shirt?
- Shirt Guarantee: If you register before October 20th you are guaranteed a shirt.
- Limited Supplies: People who register after this date are not guaranteed a shirt and will get one as supplies last.
- Wear Your Shirt Proudly: Participants are encouraged to wear their shirts during the event.
- Inquiries: For additional questions, feel free to contact the organizers.
Can I transfer my registration to another participant?
- Registration Transfers: Yes, registration can be transferred to another participant.
- Contact Information: See the information above OR contact us at santarosarun@t2t.org and we will manually change it in our system.
- Deadline: Transfers may need to be completed before the event date.
- Communication: It’s important to keep the race organizers informed of any changes.
Can I get a refund?
- Refund Policy: We do not provide refunds for the event regardless if you cannot make the date.
- Event Cancellation: The foundation needs to cancel the event for extenuating circumstances.
- Transfer Option: Registration may be transferred to another person.
- Understand Policies: Please review our refund and transfer policies carefully.
Do I have to wear my bib number?
- Bib Requirement: Yes, please display your bib on the front of your outermost garment.
- Course Rules: Those who run without a bib will be asked to leave the course and will not be allowed to finish.
- Visibility: Your bib number helps us keep track of all participants for safety.
- Compliance: Ensure you have your bib properly displayed throughout the event.
I am a fast runner. Can I get a front-line position?
- Front Corral: Runners predicting a pace faster than 6 minute/mile will be seeded in the front corral.
- Arrival: Arrive early to secure your place at the front.
- Prepare: Warm up and get familiar with the starting area beforehand.
- Competition: Get ready to race with other fast runners!
Will there be awards for running?
- Awards: Yes, awards will be given out to the top 3 runners in each category.
- Categories: Awards for male/female Overall, male/female first responders in gear, top 3 boy/girl teen, top 3 boy/girl child.
- Recognition: Celebrate and encourage all participating runners!
- Participation: Everyone is encouraged to join, regardless of competitive experience.
What can you bring to the event?
- Permitted Items: Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted, as well as firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks.
- Personal Items: Please leave all personal items and valuables in your vehicle.
- Storage Responsibility: All items should be stored securely at the owner's risk.
- Organization Liability: Tunnel to Towers Foundation will not be responsible for the loss of any items.
Will water be available?
- Water Stations: Yes, a water station will be available along the route.
- Finish Line: There will be water available at the start/finish line.
- Hydration: Stay hydrated during your run or walk!
- Accessibility: Water will be accessible for participants at all points on the course.
Is there a medical staff available on-site?
- Medical Team: Yes, there will be an Emergency Medical Service team available on site.
- Communication: There is also radio communication available on the course to help communicate with the EMS.
- Safety First: Your safety is a priority: medical help is ready if needed.
- Emergency Protocol: Familiarize yourself with emergency procedures for the event.
Where can I pick up my packet?
- Race Day Pickup: Packet pickup will be available on race day starting at 7:15 am.
- Early Pickup: Early packet pickup at Santa Rosa Plaza from 3:30 to 8:00 pm on Thursday November 6th.
- Location: Look for us in center court near the Charlie Brown statue and Sephora.
- Preparation: Make sure to pick up your packet ahead of time to avoid race day stress.
